Guest firebird Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Has anyone unlocked an SPV with v1.10 bootloader ?? Have just had my repaired SPV returned back from orange, the phone was sent to them fully unlocked but the board in the phone has been replaced by them. Have tried to use the same programme that I used on it before but it doesnt work, it only gets to 66% and then says invalid code. P.s phone was also returned to me with the new update 1.6.10 already installed ! Any ideas ?? Thanx in advance
Guest soulsniper Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I have the same problem, I have the v1.10 bootloader on an original SPV. When I run the SPVUnlock prgoram it gets to 66% and says Invalid Code - Aborting. Any ideas anyone?? :)
Guest gnoonan Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I have successfully taken my locked SPV classic from 1.6 back down to .98, running the unlocker and then back to the latest rom. Here how I did it; 1. Downgrade the phone using the ver 1.5 update found on the Swiss site http://www.orange.ch/offers/orangePhones/s...=1072996217204# 2. Further downgrade after a couple of reboots to the Orange UK 1.35 rom found here http://www.monolithix.org/apps/orange_uk_s..._spv_update.zip 3. Run the unlocker to get your unlock code 4. Upgrade your phone to the latest rom again 5. Done! cheers!
Guest nikscap Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 After running of the program you can run any code-unsigned software in your SPV, SPV E100, SPV E200, smartphones equipped with the latest ROM update. *Link Removed * Edited by Midnight, Please do not linke to the disable security files from MoDaCo.
Guest firebird Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Thank you for your help, I managed to do in the end using the UK update utility v0.32, that changed the bootloader version to 0.98. Using the unlock programme I then retrieved the code and then wrote it down to use later, finally I updated it with the I - Mate rom update v15086 which gave me a totally software unlocked phone and no orange branding. I entered the code to unlock the sim after applying this update and all went to plan, a totally unlocked SPV again. I could not have done this without this forum so a big thank you to everyone !
Guest soulsniper Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 I downgraded to the UK 1.35 update, ran the unlocker which gave me my code and then i upgraded back to 1.6 Would anybody recommend the I-Mate rom instead of the UK 1.6 rom, I've been trying to get rid of the Orange logo when I turn my phone on but I don't want to lose MMS and stuff like that..
Guest mznuba Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Hi, I have 1.6 installed at the moment, and have downloaded os 1.5, but when installing it is giving error 100? The ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work with your SPV. These are the characteristics of your SPV: Model: ORG UK The selected image information: Model: ORG_CH <1.50> Please check the vendor Web site and download the correct ROM update. Click Exit to quit. Thats all from the setup screen, Please shed any light into this if been approaced by this message. Please could someone help. Many thanks in advance. Jessie.
Guest firebird Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 To install the update you have to do it from the canary screen,do not attempt the update through a usb hub. For anyone thinking of using the I-Mate rom heres the link http://www.ppcw.net/?itemid=1487 you do not lose any functions of the orange rom except the backup and update options (MMS is included in this rom), you do however gain with no certification and IA Album as standard and no orange branding ! Make sure your SPV is unlocked though before applying this update as it may be harder to go back to the orange rom (not tried it yet).
Guest MBulles Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Hi, Currently have a SPVE100 with Canary v1.00 bootloader and revision ROM 1.5[yes...:) ] and tried several options for unlocking. But no succes... I tried to use the UK firmware with the 0.98b bootloader, but since my current phone is Dutch it does not allow the update with the UK version! Also tried all the SPVUNLOCK tools, but no succes....stops at 66% saying invalid code.... I want to use my T-Mobile SIM instead of the Orange SIM card... Maybe any idea what I could try more... Thanx!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 you have to use V0.98 bootloader or below to unlock your phone.
Guest MBulles Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 you have to use V0.98 bootloader or below to unlock your phone. I Know, but I need a Dutch Version of the V0.98 loader, or is there a way to get the UK version into the Dutch phone, because now I always receive a message that the firmware is a different one than the one currently in the phone so that the installation will be cancelled. The message says: Error 100 Incompatible Image /Mirko
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 The bootloader is the same what you are refering to is the actual update. Try runnig it from the Canary screen.
Guest MBulles Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 The bootloader is the same what you are refering to is the actual update. Try runnig it from the Canary screen. :?: What do you exactly mean by " Try runnig it from the Canary screen"
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 Put your phone in the three colour Canary screen (powering on while pressing the record button) now run the update. But since the post you can now SIM unlock any version of bootloader (except SMART update) look in the News section for SIM unlocker V2
