Guest scott_donald Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 there were some importants ones... i attached it to activesync adn it wiped all of them... is there anything i can do to get them back or stop this in the future... really pissed off....
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 SMS messages or e-mail messages? The phone should prompt if it is going to remove e-mail messages, and there is no way to bulk-remove sms messages...
Guest scott_donald Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 every dam message... as soon as the active sync was finished there were no messages left and the re were none on the comp either... really annoyed...
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I haven't heard of a problem like this with AS before. I've moved the thread to the help and advice forum, someone else may have had this issue before.
Guest Digiboy Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 This has JUST happened to me TODAY! I came here first to see if it has happened to anyone else - and here we are. I have ActiveSynced my SPVE200 a few times at work today. This evening I went to check my email headers from my ISP account on the phone and my email account settings had disappeared. Additionally, ALL messages in ALL folders (SMS/MMS) have gone. All sent items gone. The lot. I re-entered my Email account details in the phone's Activesync setup and it has accepted them on the second attempt and now works. Except now it uses 'POP3' as the title of that account rather than the 'Name' I typed in during setup. That's not how it was before. I can live with that, but not that I've lost all my personal texts. So do we have a bug here? In which case we might need to move this thread again! Really hoping for some help! :D :(
Guest Digiboy Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Now I don't think this is necessarily to do with Activesync because my SPVE200 has wiped all the same stuff again today - and all I did was switch the phone off (being a well-mannered cinema goer!) and on again 2 hours later. Hey presto, all my POP3 mail details gone, together with all SMS detail received since the last erase. Just did it again. Sent myself a text and 2 emails! Then switched off the phone. Switched back on - POP3 details gone and all messages erased from everywhere. I'll talk to Orange tomorrow.
