Guest kyrkesmith Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Is there any way to play music down the phone without simply holding the phone up to a speaker. I tried cutting up a few cables, but nothing seemed to work. I really wanted to get a cable that went from the headphone socket of my hifi to the 2.5mm handsfree socket of my E100. I think some of the adaptors for the 2.5mm socket don't carry the input signal though.
Guest Bonzo Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Hmmmm interesting idea... and yes if U could find the specific pin-out for the headphone jack on the phone U could build a lead easily enough but I really wouldn't reccomend it!!! U have to think of the potential disparity in signal strength/voltage coming from a headphone output when compared to what is seen at a microphone input!!! U could potentially do some serious damage!
Guest kyrkesmith Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 My old PC used to have a cable that ran from the modem audio out to the soundcard audio in, and that worked without any problems. So I assume if you knew the differences in signal strength, you could adjust the output volume suitably. When I tried, my problem was that the slightest bit of exposed wire acted as a microphone, instead of relaying the output of my amp.
Guest Bonzo Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Yeah in what is essentially an un-balanced system a 'screening' issue like that is always likely to be a problem I think!
