Guest Br1an_g Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Hi there, new to the forums here but a big hi and happy new year to everyone. given all the issues ive read about call quality and other things on this forum, would you still recommend purchasing an e200? i really liked the look and features of the phone but have been put off slightly by the buzzing calls and buggy features mentioned your comments would be appreciated thanks Brian
Guest Vector Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I only have the buzzing minutely, and its only noticable for me when calling 123 or orange customer services with the robot lady talking, but some people have bad buzzing, so you could get a good one, could get bad..... Hopefully it's either a network problem or a software problem, as they could be fixed either in a software update or by Orange if it's network related :)
Guest skyrine Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 i am new to the e200 and was a little awed by just what this phone can do. i have had no real issues, not suffered any real bugs. setting up bluetooth is a labour of love for some people, myself included... but, with the help of the people here on this forum, and the articles & FAQ's i have become familiar and very happy with my phone. i dont beleive the potential bugs should detract from the wonderful benefits... HTH.
Guest Squuiid Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Don't do it man ! I have had 3 and they all suffered major problems. Finally sent it back and am going for a Motorola MPx200. Go for the MPx200! I had an SPV, E100 and now E200. The E200 was the worst of the 3. Windows Mobile 03 ain't that big a deal, the bluetooth is unusable and a lot of SD cards don't work in it, and if they do work, they suck the battery dry. I haven't gotten more than a day outta the battery with no calls, or very few. http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?op...id=193&Itemid=3
Guest shaun Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I think you should really sit down and have a good think about what sort of user you are before you commit to a E200. I am a very light user, I make and received no more than two or three calls per day, but I do send and receive a number of emails per day. I just love this feature, and Windows for Smartphone 2003 is miles and miles better at E-mail and web, so much better I am going be spending more on my GPRS package. My mate is a real heavy mobile user, 30+ callls per day with roaming in in Germany - I my opinion the E200 would not be the right phone for him, he has a Nokia 6310i. But for me, I love the sync with Outlook 2003, the email on the go (now with mulitple Inboxes), the web browsing, and the ability to keep loads of personal information using CodeWallett Pro with me at all times. Then of course you have got the integrated camera, media player, voice recording etc Just looking on this board will tell you that there are some bugs, but the impact of these depends on what type of user you are going to be. For me this phone is fantastic, it does everything I want and need and the bugs are in areas which tend not to impact on me. I have a charger at home, the USB cradle at work and I don't as yet need an SD card. So battery life is OK. I don't send many SMS mesages and I tend not to use T9 much. I do read a lot of emails, the multiple inbox, the quality of the screen, the better connection all work well for me. Maybe I have a good handset because I can't hear any buzzing at all, but I just Love my E200. :) hope that helps! thanks shaun
Guest Br1an_g Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 thanks for all of your opinions and suggestions. i think im going to go ahead and enter the world of the SPV. at the end of the day, if i dont like it i can sell the handset on ebay :) thanks Brian
