Guest shimmip Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 My homescreen has a long format date on it (ie yesterday it said 31 December 2003) but today when I eventually crawled out of bed and turned on my phone the homescreen isn't working - I get the "No home screen layouts can be found... " message. Does anyone know if there is an issue with long date formats and us now being in 2004? The year ticking over is the only thing I can think of thats changed.... Seems a bit shabby if this is the problem. On the other hand I'm not thinking entirely clearly right now....

Guest Matt Kirby Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I've got the long date format on my homescreen, and I've had no problems. Maybe your handset has done a partial reset? A hard-reset may cure your problem, assuming that no-one suggests a less drastic option!

Guest nytehawk2002 Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I experienced a problem where the 4 in 2004 physically occupies a larger area than a 3. This knocks my homescreen date line to say: 01/01/200 I just went into settings and corrected the Short date to be 01/01/04 and it fits fine.

I guess I'll just remove the components one by one till I can work out what it is. I still can't believe the fact that it was working on 31st December 2003 and not 1st Jan 2004 is a coincidence though...

It slipped my mind but I also got round to deleting some unused background images on Dec 31st and the default background in the xml I was using (rather than the one picked through settings) was pointing at one of these. Hadn't realised that screwed the whole thing up.... Apologies for wasting yer time!
