Editing Contact Filter Categories

Is there a way to reduce the list of categories shown when I use the Contact filter function?

After cleaning up the categories I use for my contacts - I still have a number of categories that show up - even though there are no contacts assigned to that category.

Are you sure you dont have contacts assigned to Multiple categories?

Also, Even if you only deleted the category...the number will still be assigned to it with a (not in master category list) next to it on the PC.

Your best bet is to do all of your category editing on the PC. Once the categories are truely gone, everything should clean up.

Hmmm, looking at the categories on my phone today, it seems like my category list has cleaned up some after resyncing - and the unused categories are now gone.

Note when this category issue occured before - I had verified the categories being used - both in Outlook (grouping by category view) and also on the i600 (I would filter by that category and see no contacts listed).

How do u change default contact number (e.g. Home rather than work ..etc) in batch. almost all of my contacts are using work number as default.

I believe you have to change each individually. It defaults to work on the belief it is primarily a business device.
