backlight timeout not working properly since 1.6 update

since putting the new update on my e100 i have noticed that only immediately after a reboot will the backlight timeout kick in after 5 seconds. later on in the day it seems that it no longer takes any notice of what it's set to until i reboot again. anyone else seen anything similar? thought this might explain some people reporting less battery life since putting the update on. Posted from my SmartPhone!
