Guest cwiggler_2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Hi All, Im planning to buy an MMC/SD with 128MB capacity to use in my SPV e100. I would like to ask how long is the video length while using the 128MB card. Thanks a lot. :)
Guest kassan Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Hello! Depends on the quality of the file. When using Microsoft Movie maker, a standard divix movie after compression is between 90-140 MB. SD cards are getting cheaper and cheaper so think it over and try to put some extra money for at least 256MB. Worth a hustle! Besides, does anyone try to play the whole video movie on spv??? With such a skipping with vide clips dont want to think how it will be like with larger flies...
Guest cwiggler_2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 I talked to a friend of mine who owns a smartphone and he said that he can watch a whole movie in his smartphone. He reencodes the divx movie using VirtualDiub using the screen resolution of the phone. I'll give it a try once I have the SD/MMC. Thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot to SD with 256mb if I can afford to get one. regards
Guest kurtfhouse Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 I have managed to convert Blade 2 from DVD to mpeg into 140MB and it looks o.k and plays fine on my phone. If you don't want to splash out on a bigger card i have got a Red Dwarf episode down to 37MB (approx 30 mins) So 128MB should be fine for shorter movies, but I would invest in 256MB its amazing how fast your memory gets eaten up. Hope that helps
Guest pyke Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 was able to convert the "Jason X" movie using windows media encoder.the entire movie was 90mb.approximately 1mb per minute because the movie was approximately 90 minutes they are right.go for a 256mb sd card instead. i used to have a 128mb and initially,i thought it was enough.but as i discovered the things i can maximize my spv with, i sold my 128mb and bought a 256mb.
Guest jambo Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 1st of all... Use Pocket MVP (available from monolithix.org). This video player has full-screen playback (like Pocket TV) but supports an Mpeg-4 codec (like Windows Media Player). For decent quality I use 128kb/s (1mb a minute)! If you need encoding advice (using VirtualDUB) then just ask.
Guest cwiggler_2004 Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Thanks guys for all your great replies. Jambo, maybe you can post it here the steps how did you reencode your movies using VirtualDub. regards. :)
