Guest The PocketTV Team Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Where should "help" be for Smartphone applications ? Some applications provide local Help files. It takes some memory storage space, but accessing the help does not require an internet connection. Some applications provide a URL to remote Help files. It takes no memory storage space, but accessing the help then requires an internet connection (and bandwidth cost). Which solution do you prefer ?
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 With the app. on the SD card I'd say local. The time taken to connect to the internet would be annoying when you need some assistance.
Guest midnight Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 yeh, definitely local, not everyone has a gprs connection, and you cant assume that when they need help they have access to a pc either maybe the best solution may be a quick help file local and an extensive remote help file is the help file is really large.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Or quick help on the phone, with extended help on your PC.
