Here's my experience:

-In addition, you need to take out your SD/MMC/dummy card first. Don't leave it in there and curse at the blank white screen like I did for 30mins!

-Instead of 'eraseIPSM' you will see something (at option 8 too) like 'X STORAGE' - just press '8' to erase!

-After deleting the contents, the phone will auto boot.

-You will see a screen with the words 'MOBILE' and a nice ROUND 'O' logo (what other shapes can an 'O' be? :) Be patient and wait till the screen promts for your SIM PIN# (yes, SIM card may be left inside)

* After keying in your SIM, press 'OK' when prompted to reboot your device!
