Active Sync probs

After the first Hard Reset, the phone restarted with the programmes on the CD missing which i reinstalled.

When I came to reinstalling the MMS software, I clicked on the icon in the Accessories folder, (where it was put by default during installation) and an error was made.

"Unable to locate UserResource file".

Now, i restarted my phone and that same error message came up before my Home Page loaded.

I then clicked on Programmes,Inbox, and the envelope icons next to my sms' were missing and i couldn't go in to each one to read or reply. Even clicking on New to create a new one wouldn't work and i couldnt receive sms either, and the SMS MMS E-mail line on the home screen had disappeared.

I then thought there was a prob with the MMS software so used Active Sync to delete the files through App Manager, and on restarting my phone the problem remained. So,

another Hard Reset to start from scratch, and after installing my GPRS counter, i went to plug my phone in to put the MMS software back on, together with my ringtones etc.

No luck.

The Connected-Guest box came straight up, without asking to create a new partnership.

So i removed it and reinstalled it, still the same.

My local Orange branch suggested installing version 3.7.1 from coolsmartpohne.com, no luck.

Restarted my PC in Windows 98 instead of 2000 and installed it in there from scratch, no luck.

Does any of this sound familiar? Please offer any kind of advice you can.
