Hiya

Am trying to upgrade my orange SPV smartphone, but it's not working!!

During the upgrade process to Ver 1.6, the phone says there's a connection problem and I need to restart the phone. When I restart the phone and switch on the power again, it comes up with a 'card found' message. It then says press any key to enter bootloader.

I do this, and then select "erase ipsm". After it passes the test, and I restart the phone, it loads the three-colour screen (red, green, blue), and won't go past this.

Please help!!

I have read (but not actually tried) that you can update from the bootloader screen. Try connecting it to your computer at this point, and running the update. Also, search for updating from the bootloader.

it sounds like a problem i had a few weeks back, resulted in a replacement phone.

if it's the same problem i had, i think removing the card just replaces the "card found" message with "card not found"

Plugging it upto the computer puts "USB" in the bottom left corner

Not plugging it upto the computer puts "serial" in the bottom left corner

The 3 colour screen are 3 thick stripes that just say "canary" in them

Looks very pretty but not much use

edit.... think this is the same story, although it didn't work for me.. here

It's a lot of use for updating as ALL update should be run from the canary screen.
