Guest cdasilva Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Hiya Am trying to upgrade my orange SPV smartphone, but it's not working!! During the upgrade process to Ver 1.6, the phone says there's a connection problem and I need to restart the phone. When I restart the phone and switch on the power again, it comes up with a 'card found' message. It then says press any key to enter bootloader. I do this, and then select "erase ipsm". After it passes the test, and I restart the phone, it loads the three-colour screen (red, green, blue), and won't go past this. Please help!!
Guest smeg36 Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 I have read (but not actually tried) that you can update from the bootloader screen. Try connecting it to your computer at this point, and running the update. Also, search for updating from the bootloader.
Guest mek Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 it sounds like a problem i had a few weeks back, resulted in a replacement phone.
Guest hecatae Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 remove the card, just a thought. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest mek Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 if it's the same problem i had, i think removing the card just replaces the "card found" message with "card not found" Plugging it upto the computer puts "USB" in the bottom left corner Not plugging it upto the computer puts "serial" in the bottom left corner The 3 colour screen are 3 thick stripes that just say "canary" in them Looks very pretty but not much use edit.... think this is the same story, although it didn't work for me.. here
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 The 3 colour screen are 3 thick stripes that just say "canary" in them Looks very pretty but not much use It's a lot of use for updating as ALL update should be run from the canary screen.
