Guest checcoxx Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Hi.I've only the 8mb Sd card and I want to insert mp3 files but I can put only 2-3 of them. What is the most compressed sound format that spv can read? When I convert the mp3,what are the characteristics that I must put(like bitrate ecc)? Thanks
Guest Matt Kirby Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Generally I prefer using .wma files (from Windows Media Player) - they generally produce smaller files than MP3. You could also use Oog Vorbis files - I haven't tried them but they are also good for small file sizes - although I can't remember which Smartphone player supports them.
Guest siu99spj Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 PocketMVP supports MP3's and OGG Vorbis's (Vorbii?). Windows Media Player supports WMA's. As to compressions, you really are looking at the limitations of you 8MB card. If you're using headphones then you're about as small as you can go without sever loss of audio quality. However, if you're just using the phones speaker, then you could try dropping the bit and sampling rates (and to mono) to compress the files further, but that'll sound nasty through headphones. The only other option is to buy a bigger memory card.
Guest schriss Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 I use PocketMusic Smartphone Edition: http://www.pocketmind.com/pocketmusicsp.htm MP3, OGG Vobis, MP1, MP2 support it's not free but I like it. Notice that equalizer and Extra Bass doesn't work on Smartphone (support said device is too slow). If you get the free beta version you will notice that equalizer and Extra Bass did work but not smooth. I liked Extra Bass, pitty it doesn't work, result was really great!
