Guest The PocketTV Team Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Posted from my SmartPhone! unfortunately modaco is not a model of smartphone-friendly forum... reading forum posts and navigating the site requires a lot of horizontal scrolling, making it very hard to use from a smartphone. hopefuly you guys will improve that...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Are you using smartphone.modaco.com as this is the smartphone friendly version of this site, the only scrolling then is vertical.
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Are you using smartphone.MoDaCo.com as this is the smartphone friendly version of this site, the only scrolling then is vertical. Yes, I used a link from a notification email that I received, like: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...p=351315#351315 Apparently it does recognize Smartphone clients dynamically, somehow, since it gives me the page with the number keys of the Smartphone mapped on some links. But in this case, why doesn't it give me the right vertical format ?
Guest nxsfan Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 if smartphone.modaco.com is the smartphone friendly subdomain, what is the mobile.modaco.com subdomain for?
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 The smartphone friendly URL is.... http://mobile.modaco.com/ Nice and quick.
Guest millpc Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Works ok for me. Fast too, even via dial up from my spv, and gprs is like broadband!
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 For some reason it did not work well for me (using a i600). And PIE was set to "Fit to Screen". I had the numbers in front of the links (so I'm pretty sure that was the Smartphone version, because I don't see those numbers in the regular version), but there was a lot of horizontal scrolling.
Guest nxsfan Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 sorry, my previous post didnt make any sense, i meant to ask what mobile .modaco.com was aimed at. edit, ok, now i get it, the site automatically changed the url from mobile to smartphone for some reason
Guest idavid Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 is it possible to get to the smartphone version without a smartphone? ie when i am surfing from my pocketp? it would be useful to not have all the graphics.
Guest bdmoore Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 idavid, If you use http://mobile .modaco.com/ then you will get the smartphone version in any browser including desktop ie (good for browsing at work :D ) HTH bdmoore [edit] Had to add a space to the link cos it replaces the mobile .modaco.com link with smartphone.modaco.com! This forum's too clever for it's own good :) [/edit]
Guest kjk Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I am agree with the pocketTV team NOT easy to do serach
Guest humz Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I was trying to write a post from my SPV for the first time today and I noticed that if I tick the "remember password" tick box, Modaco tells me that I have entered an incorrect password. Also, once I'd finally signed on, I went to do a "quick reply" and when I submitted it, I was taken back to the enter password screen and forced to log in again and consequently had to retype my post all over again (this happened twice). Pretty annoying.
