Guest FrankSpencer Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Hi guys, quick request for a solution. I'm having no problems storing tones on the SD card (root) and getting them to work as standard ringtones on my SPV Canary. Only problem is since updating to the latest orange patch it doesn't use any specified custom ringtones. They're set (in the IPSM/App...Data/Sounds/ folder as it won't pick up the ones on the SD card for custom contact tones) but never play - it just uses the standard ringtone. I wondered if it was cos the standard and custom tones were in different directories so I moved all the tones into the IPSM folder but still the problem persists! Any help appreciated. Oh and happy new year to all :)
Guest measleep Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 I've had the same problem since the ROM upgrade. The only way I've discovered to enable custom ring tones is to copy them from either the storage card or your IPSMSounds folder to IPSMWindows. Only problem is that they get deleted whenever the phone is rebooted so keep copies on the storage card and copy them to the main Windows directory every reboot... Hopefully someone may have a more permanent solution, as Jeyo and Soundzcool also suffer after the upgrade. Edit  Oops! Missed out a bit on the first paragraph. Should read "copy the sounds to rootWindows" (which is where the system sound files reside) as IPSMWindows contains no sound files.
Guest Taoski Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 If you place them in the Storage CardMy Documents folder - you can use them from there ok. (or i can at least).
