Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 I'm very pleased to announce that we are now in a position to offer MoDaCo Plus members POP3 access to their HoTMaiL accounts, with a new beta service. This means that HoTMaiL users can finally use the Smartphone mail client to access their mail! Full details can be found in the MoDaCo Plus members area. Enjoy! P

Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 For you perhaps, but not for a HoTMaiL Smartphone user! P
Guest www.msmobiles.com Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 "]For you perhaps, but not for a HoTMaiL Smartphone user! P OK, just small suggestion: launch both and see which service - hotmail gateway or RSS channels - has more users!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Everyone give me a whole bunch of money and we'll see who gives me more! :)
Guest kyrkesmith Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 "]This means that HoTMaiL users can finally use the Smartphone mail client to access their mail! It's been a while since Hotmail's been written like that, hasn't it? ;)

Guest Coucou Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 What's an RSS channel? :? Am I inviting patronising explanations? And I never knew why it was called HoTMaiL either. D'oh!
Guest zeta101 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I'm obviously wrong here, so can someone correct me, but i thought hotmail offered pop3 access to its accounts if you paid a subscription or something? So isnt this in conflict with what is being offered here? and i didnt know it was called HoTMaiL either :) and RSS is what is used for newsfeeds etc: http://www.webreference.com/authoring/lang.../xml/rss/intro/
Guest kingdom master Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 what other benefits to we get now from modaco plus. can we list them all. how does this service for hotmail work is it relyable cause i have three hotmail accounts id like to direct throught my phone, is it view like a normal email on phone? do we have to add something to the phone?

Guest www.msmobiles.com Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 and i didnt know it was called HoTMaiL either :) could somebody explain what is so special in "H TM L"? I don't understand.
Guest jackofall Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 HTML(Hypertext Markup Language) - The coded format language used for creating hypertext documents on the World Wide Web and controlling how Web pages appear. perhaps?
Guest futaris Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 I'd be more inclined to suggest people use fastmail.fm for their IMAP / POP3 access. You can set it up so that it will automatically retrieve multiple hotmail accounts into your account. See www.fastmail.fm or www.emailadresses.com for more information about various E-mail providers.
Guest nvkid909 Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 :) cool, shall be up for this soon. tho', how many folk go out buying smartphones with the promise of being able to read their emails, only to discover that they need to create a new email adress different to the one (most probably hotmail) that their contacts know them as? oh well, cant have it all!
