But you have gallant solo? I think yes....

I can download your original rom from Acer link and use recovery into this. You have direct link?

If you can use adb shell done this:

adb shell

su

cat /proc/dumchar_info ---> and send me

cat /proc/emmc ---> same

I think that you can use my recovery because the kernel is only one on Acer web site but first i want see better.

Bye.

Cool! :)

On the French ACER support site there are different ROMs for the SOLO and the DUO.

SOLO = OS_Acer_E350.1.000.16.EMEA.FRS_A40I_A.zip

DUO = OS_Acer_E350.1.000.18.EMEA.FR_A40I_A.zip

I'm just going to assume the S in FRS stands for SOLO... :)

I'm using the one from Vache's server, where i used Acer_AV041_E350_1.000.16_EMEA_FRS.zip and FlashTool to flash it to my Phone.

I'll see if i can figure out abd shell and get your those files. :D

Hello,

I just installed successfully ClockWordMod 6.0.1.5 by Lucky76 beta 1 on a plain new Gallant Duo.

But the size of the files produced is surprising. I got under the directory /sdcard2/clockworkmod/backup/(date,time):

cache.ext4.dup 0.36KB

data.ext4.dup 112KB

system.ext4.dup 113KB

boot.img 6144KB

recovery.img 6144KB

Is there something wrong with my backup?

Other question: what is this directory /sdcard2/clockworkmod/blobs ?

Is ok but If you want standard Backup you must do this

Change backup format

Backup and restore

Choose backup format

Tar

Now Start your backup

Hello Lucky76,

Thank you for your input, and congratulations for making the recovery available for our phone.

I have some questions and remarks.

1- Is the default backup format preserved ? Since I always see "dup" as default format.

But apparently the small file /clockworkmod/.default_backup_format contains "tar" string inside it,

so hopefully this format will be used later on.

2- The backup produces *.tar.a and *.tar.b files. They are big, and seem to contain backup data.

While *.tar files (without .a or .b extensions) are small. What is their usage?

Previous ClockWorkMod versions did not have *.tar.a files. It looks like a splitting mechanism

somehow since the *.tar.a file seem to be limited to 1GB. Is there a way to get only big *.tar

files (no splitting)?

3- I got message no backup of .android_secure (/sdcard/.android_secure is effectively empty) but with the application Online Nandroid backup

Online Nandroid Backup (v2.6.5.1) (Market Url: https://market.andro...r3t1c.onnandbup)

.android_secure is backuped (refer to onandroid.log below). Where does it found the files?

Note : to use it, you need a patch file for the Liquid Gallant (code C8): inside the application, choose menu, then patch file.

What is /mnt/asec ? Is this related to .android_secure?

4- Compatibility with Online Nandroid backup (onandroid)? The files produced by onandroid

are more "classic" (refer to log file below).

5- Use application Quick boot to go to Recovery: got Android man fallen with red triangle! Need to remove battery, and need to reflash

the recovery :-( since Power + VolumeUp gives the same thing. So personally I no longer use Quick Boot to go to Recovery, but use the

hardware buttons instead. Or am I missing something?

6- When selecting reboot inside the recovery, a question is asked: ROM can flash recovery on boot. FIX?

I did not confirm anything and it reboots normally. What is the recommended action in this case?

7- I do not dare yet to restore with ClockWorkMod the backup done with Online nandroid backup.

Hopefully someone can share any experience with it.

Edit: the onandroid seems to have problem backuping the recovery since the size is only 1024, while the size with CWM is 6MB (6 291456 bytes).

The boot.img produced is different (512MB !) instead of 6MB from CWM.

So it appears that currently CWM is more reliable (and could be use to restore), apart from the remaining problem of

.android_secure not being backuped.

Question 8: Is the internal /sdcard backuped by CWM? /sdcard2 is the external micro SD card, and /sdcard is referred as internal USB storage.
