Nexus 7 Keyboard missing numbers vs Nexus 4

2 posts in this topic

The standard Android keyboard on the Nexus 4 (4.2.1) has numbers embedded in the top row of letters so you can tap-hold to enter the number. I find this really handy but the Nexus 7 (also 4.2.1) does not have these and you have to tap the number key to flip to number entry screen instead.

Anyone know a way to get the same N4 experience on the N7 without installing a custom keyboard or new ROM. I'd like to keep everything as stock as possible but figured they must be using the same keyboard and there's just an option somewhere but I can't find it.

Finally Google add this to the stock N7 keyboard in the latest keyboard update!
