I just installed it and it worked fine on my C500.
 Eh?  How?  The author has stated there is a problem installing on WM2003SE devices??  Is there a new version available??

Just tried to install this on my C500, but it just loops the installation again and again until I get bored and cancel it

Looks like a useful app, will be interested if a C500-compatible version comes out

I just downloaded the .exe file from the first page and ran it.  I installed it to my phone and it works fine.

I'm using a software-unlocked Orange C500 if that makes any difference.

I haven't tested it on the C500 (I only have an SPV, SPV100 and MPX200).  I assumed (insert joke here), that there was a problem with the C500 since a number of folks couldn't install it.

Let me ask you who couldn't install:

- Did you try SD install first or second?
- How much memory do you have on your devices on the card or on the phone?

- Anything you can think of?  Maybe reset the phone and try install again?  I'll continue to look into the issue, I am tested a new version now.

Kenny.

I tried both SD card install first, and phone install first - didn't make any difference.  I have 20MB storage on the phone, & about 10MB on storage card.
Hope you can get this working for us, coz I really need to wake up in the mornings!!  :)

Tried SD first and then Phone then SD then Phone etc etc.  Soft-reset the phone and got the same.

Got ~5Mb free on the phone and 160Mb free on the storage card.

I didn't either, it just sort of happened, but that's ok as long as MoDaCo doesn't mind...

I got your list of bugs, and I'll mention them here so people are aware of them...

Quote

1) It asks for a reg code....but it did take the Citytime reg code. D
Too much cut and paste, fixed in the next Beta.

Quote

2) When selecting the alarm wav file, it does not end when you go to the next selection. You need to say done and go back in.
Looking into this one, it used to behave itself...

Quote

3) When selecting Relative To....once you navigate off of Current Location....you cant go back to it when scrolling. You have to click and pick from the list.
Fixed in next Beta.

Quote

4) After an alarm is dismissed...why does it count up past the alrarm time? Shouldnt it cont down until the next alarm time? I have it set to Daily.
It will count backwards (past the time) until it is dismissed, it should go to the next once it is dismissed, the notifty windows and the GUI are actually seperate instances of the app, the GUI should notice the alarm was dismissed and stop, this is the intended behaviour if it has not yet been dismissed, that is to show the amount of time past the alarm.

Quote

5) A homescreen plugin would be cool for this as well!
Next version, those tend to be a lot of work. :)

Quote

6) A fullscreen clock when docked feature would be cool as well!
Also, looking into this for next version...

Quote

7) When using the countdown timer, after dismissing, only part of the item in the alarm list is highlighted. (the length of the text). You need to scroll off then back on for it to highlight the whole item row.

Fixed in next beta.

Thanks!
Kenny.

kennyg,

can you add test alarm / play in the Menu to verify the volume level and the alarm sound?
Hello All,

The first BETA of CityTime Alarms for Smartphone is now available for you to try out.
Beta 2 is now available.  :)

Please uninstall the current version and install the new one.  Because of the font you should have to power cycle/soft-reset your phone.  It does not preserve your alarms at this time, in later versions I will add this functionality (ok, I just thought of that while I typed it!).

Changes include:

- Sounds go with program, Phone or Card.
- Clarify: The program does NOT need to be running for the alarms to work, it functions like the calendar in that regard.
- Added sound looping.
- Cancel will happen immediately, not after playing the loop.
- ClearType option for 2002 users, it helps with LCD theme, looks bad on the LED theme.
- Darker LCD text, was washed out on some devices.
- Most reported bugs fixed.
- Changed some this to see if it effected the install problems of SOME C500 users.

Note to C500 users, if you have problems installing, please tell me your Carrier and anything else you can think of.

Links are as follows:

CAB file:

EXE file for PC (with installer)

If you have ANY problems,  contact me.

Thanks!

Just tried to install the beta 2 on my c500 - but no joy, same unable to install at this location error as before!  :) It goes through the installation procedure, does importing of cities, airlines etc, but fails to install at the last minute.
I tried both the exe & the cab, and tried installing at both phone & storage card first, but got the same error message every time.
Its an Orange UK c500.  Decertified.  Phone has 20MB storage, and card has 10MB storage.

If you need any more info, let me know.

Same here   Perhaps it's down to an app that we both have installed that others don't ?

Just received notification from kennyg of a new beta v3.  Guess what - it installed first time on my C500 :)  Now time to play!  Files are in the same place as the links above.

kennyg - just out of interest, what was the problem with the previous versions?

:) Me too!  I get an error message when setting an alarm though -

window message (0x111) for window (0x52e7c0) terminated abnormally by an exception ()!

Whats that all about!?

Super app Kenny G, I nearly had a heart attack this morning though when the NYSEBell arrived

One little addition to the software I would like to see (coz my memory is real bad) is the option to set alarms fortnightly (once every 2 weeks), you'll probably get a few requests now for once every 3 weeks, 5 weeks, 6 etc...  :)  )

Its so I can  remember which wheelie bin to put out - our bloomin local council gives us three bins, black domestic waste picked up once every two weeks and green and recycle waste on the other weeks.  I like to set alarm to remind me to put bins out and what bins to put out

C500 256MB Great phone shame about the d-pad!

Mmm ... no alarms seem to be going off for me.  Have set 3 different alarms for this morning & not one of them has activated.
