Hi - I was hoping to start a thread where people could list their local Nokia service centres that are prepared to reflash N70s from the (awful) Orange firmware version...

I'm looking for one in North London - any ideas / experiences?

Hi,

I've got a Nk 6680 which had reflashed at my local service centre and was charged ?20. You can get the address of your nearest by following the link on the Nokia website for support, repair etc.....

Bloody happy with my 6680 now :)

I've heard a few people have attempted this at their local service centre (usually they're Carphone Warehouse stores or 'PhoneBox' around here), but a few places will only flash you with the latest Orange software rather than the generic equivalent.

So shop around!

Excuse me for possibly sounding stupid......but.......

Is it not possible to flash with new firmware yourself? I only as because I've done it with my SPV M1000 (although that's a windows device, I know). Similar principle?
Or do the Nokias need specific hardware/software/cable for it to be done?
