What is the difference between PC Studio and Kies

To my knowledge Kies is the application store software whereas New PC Studio is the software to transfer files/backup/etc.

Kies has also a lot of features to trasnefer files... and many other features I think.

The only problem with Kies is that it's really "Samsung style software" = big and slow

I did a backup of my data in NPS before upgrading to wm 6.5, but that .wbu file exceeded 400 MB (i don't know why)...the most important of this file was my SMS, that I already passed on my PC via USB...the matter is that from NPS - backup & restore - i can't manage restore my backup file because it says I don't have enough memory on the phone to restore the file(but I also did a hard reset!!!)...so I'm going crazy trying to restore in anyway my SMS from PC to my i8000! I also saved the SMS as .sme and .smf files...but I don't know how to do...thanks!!!!

thanks...any idea on how to open sme/wbu/nef files?maybe it could help...my sms are saved in this format!but it's crazy that one can save his sms on pc and can't move them another time on the phone!you lost them in that way!neither kies helps in it!

the basic diff is that KIES is used as Samsung App Store aplication and PC studio not. Otherwise they're two similar software bundles which typically of samsung is quite sensless move.
