Guest babyjosef17
Now armed with the knowledge that our Omnia 2 has Two 5MP cameras. (Thanks to the HD2 VS O2 thread) I am now very curious and even exited to know if is it possible for us to take pictures using the front camera? I remember some weeks back while riding the train I saw a person with an O2, or it may have been a jet, used her Phone as a mirror using the front camera. After seeing that, I guess taking pix with the front cam is not that far off.

There are two cameras, the rear one is the 5MPixel that we know but the front/secondary one is just a VGA camera, you can access it thru the “LCD Test” option, just dial *#0*# and you will be redirected to LCD page with a 3x5 table of test options, look for CIFcam to see the secondary cam in action (A.K.A., your US$600+ mirror) :D

So thats how it works haha. Yeah, now I managed to use the $600 Mirror lol :( In any case I find the VGA camera of substantial quality it can be enough for self cam. Probably a chef will be a bit interested in making a app for this. Thanks again my man!

Guest surgex
Live Messenger or Skype is calling out for someone to enable this camera for calls. Fring have video calls with Skype on Symbian and iPhone (rear cam on iphone obviously). Windows mobile version is coming soon, hopefully it will work on our device. BTW, I dialed that code and it didn't work -- probably because I have the Verizon version?

I have downloaded the win mo version from their site (saying I had a i900 because i8000 isn't there) about 10 minutes ago. Hopefully it will work. Edit: Ahh ok. Its the video calling component that hasn't been completed for the win mo version but it has for symbian and iphone..... But they were only published a week ago so hopefully the win mo one will be soon after. Edited December 7, 2009 by Pete B

Guest slow_mo
doesn't have SupportFrontCam on the folder.. Just add a new DWORD Value to the folder... Find: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Samsung/Camera Add new DWORD: SupportFrontCamera = 1 Start camera Go to "Shooting mode" (second left icon from the top) Select "Self" and you have your front camera (640 x 480) extracted from http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-...rom-camera-app/ Cheers

Guest awarner (MVP)
omniamasta I wonder if the wonderful user experience limiting Verizon has disabled that menu in their ROM? I presume you have the i920 and not an i8000, would explain why it does not seem to appear on your device.
