Hi guys,

Today, my second day with the phone, I had to remove the cover twice to recover from two freezes: one after clicking reply to a SMS and the other after adding a wi-fi connection. No button would respond at all, so I had to resort to that

My concern then is if doing this prolonged in time would damage the case , make it loose and maybe start making noises? In fact, the cover makes a little noise when pressing it from the back, at the left side. The right side is sturdy as hell but the left makes a little "crackk, crackk" as I touch it. Is it normal? It really bothers me that it's not "perfect" and fits 100% well

I already bought a replacement from eBay to check if it does the same.

Please let me know.

I've taken mine on and off a number of times with no problem, but since mine is a Verizon i920 and the cover costs $4.95 with free shipping, I bought a spare just in case.

I have removed the battery cover 15-20 times since now!!! Most of them for freezing issues! It still has a 100% perfect fit, no cracking noises!

mine cracked on day 10 after not so many removals so i would say yes, have not gotten the spare one yet, (day 60) since I live far from all of the sellers on ebay,

any material will be wore out eventually, you should try to delay that as much as you can.

Yeah, but if Windows crashes like 5 times a day.. it's pretty hard to do. They should have put the reset button outside; probably replace the OK button at the right with a "reset" button, since it's used more than that...

You can do what I did and drill a small hole on the side of the case.  You can even use a dremel on it, takes 10 seconds to do.

Every item has a certain number of uses until it ceases its normal function. It all depends on usage, frequency, force etc. Sometimes there are small imperfections in the material (like air bubbles) and that might affect functionality.

My battery cover didn't crack, but the top left hinge broke (top left when you look at the back of the phone) and I had to glue it back. Got a replacement for $15 and there are even cheaper ones on the Bay ($5 to $20).

I thought about that, but I'd have to be very precise with the drill and probably will break the whole case
