Guest megawatson
Very interested in the possibilities of flashing My Verizon Omnia II for a little more memory and a custom user experience. Found the i920_WM6.5_21863_OEM_STOCK.rar which I believe will let me go back to "fresh as when I bought it in December". So braver now. Cannot find OCTANS, just OCTANS mini which I am sure I should not use. Where is OCTANS for the i920? So then I can try out some of the custom Roms I see laying about :P But I note that some people hate/rip out every single VZW/Samsung app, and there might be a few I want back. For example, I like the photo display from the cube interface, sorry! and maybe the VZW song id app. Is there a cab repository or a way to reinstall some Verizon apps after flashing to a slimmed down version? because I am pretty sure I do not want to learn to cook for that. Thanks!

Guest megawatson
I had thought so: You mean the one labeled: Omnia 2: Tweaks, Flash Guide, Suggested Programs, FAQ But there is a Bold line: Guide on how to Flash ROM for i8000 and its go the Octans mini version under it. Can't find regular version in the thread BUT wait I followed the link to flashing the 8000 (which is not what I have so I'd ignored it) and there is an entry there: "Software required for flashing i8000 ROM Windos XP with SP3 (if you want to use Window Vista, read here; if you want to use Windows 7 x32, read here; if you want to use Windows 7 x64, read here) Samsung_CDMA_modem_4_1_.34.zip OCTANS Downloader (you can use the standard OCTANS_Downloader_v2.14.exe ( 920K ) Number of downloads: 1473 or the modified OCTANS_Mini.v2.11.exe by Sorg)" So i guess i want that, and thank you. It wasn't easy to find in the search pile results either. Anyone else on the Verizon apps thing? btw sorry for the apparent double headline on my post, that's the title and a description entry which i did not think would show up on the main list.
