It's taking some of my time but I've not had much time the last few weeks. And sadly there is only Tom that works on the Froyo port. I just don't have the knowledge to tinker with the code :)

We haven't left you all though. I've been in the blade forum trying to keep the noobs in order!

Fancy donating to my current and future work? You can do so through my Google Checkout links here

Haha, a lot of people learning Android with a budget phone, from where is that familiar :) Good they have a very solid shepherd then. Off topic: how's your experience with the SF so far, is it that much better? And back on topic, do you plan to assist Tom on the CM build or do you stick to FLB 2? Cheers, glad to see you drop by the Pulse forum once in a while:P

Where is the san fran forum, I can't seem to find it?  Want to know how this is progressing since it looks like I'm going to have to get one if I want froyo.

Have problem with Windows - reboot...
Have problem with Linux - be root!

Whats wrong with froyo on the pulse?
CM6 is very cool, I've actually been using my Pulse for the last couple of days (its normally a full time dev phone) and CM6 on the Pulse is so much faster than my X10 with a standard rom. I figured out the wifi problems in CM6 last night, so will look at getting a rom out in the next day. There are still some features not working, but it is very usable.

According to Royal Mail my SanFran is now into the Australian postal system, so I will hopefully have it on Monday.

Does anyone know anything about MIUI? A user PM'd me about porting it to the Pulse. It looks very cool, but I don't think it would work well on a low res screen. Is source available?

What works / doesn't work with CM6? And I'll look around for MIUI source for you. But anything i find, you probably found first.... I really wish I had money / Paypal so I could donate to you.
Anyone willing to donate money to Tom for me?

Why not ask the Acer Liquid forum? They ported the ROM over to their phone, so they must know something.

MIUI Rom:
http://djmcnz.batter.../MIUI/deodexed/

"Rom porters" use this "source" to port the MIUI with resizing the framework, replace the drivers (accelerator, wifi, etc.). I think, with some replace, we can get MIUI.

Ahh thanks, I thought it was the ZTE racer.  I see a couple of problems - no trackball/dpad and no front camera!  I'll hang on to my pulse me thinks.

Lol lpl

Btw, for my needs, Pulse with froyo is perfect - camera and video are nice to have features. Only important thing is manual network selecton, if this one is fixed, I will not consider spending around 200-250 USD for an other budget phone that will be considered "limited" in half a year....

You are quite right, the 2.2 rom works lovely (many thanks) - I've not tried CM6 version-.  It is really, really nice BUT video and camera not working is a deal breaker for me and I'm guessing the camera issue isn't likely to be fixed without any help from the manufacturer.  Anyway, I'm sticking with my beloved pulse having realised the sanfran  has no front camera or dpad/trackball!! Paaah!  :)

Just had a look at this on you tube - looks great -  is there generally a performance advantage to using this too?

What works / doesn't work with CM6?
The big one is that video works (and incredibly well, youtube is working better than on the X10).

Not working
sensors (not sure why, they were easy to get working in aosp).
bluetooth (this also is different to aosp)
camera (I haven't even tried yet)
the GPS bug from aosp is still there
the netcfg permissions problem is still there. I can't figure out how that works in the official roms. Looking at the rpc device permissions in the standard roms rild shouldnt work.

Thats all I can think of. Obviously some features like tethering aren't going to work, but I don't consider them a requirement for a fully functioning device.
A side-effect of bluetooth not working is that the fix I have been working on for the wifi MAC problem may not work as it may not be able to read the BT MAC. I think the BT problem is fixable, I haven't really looked at it yet.

OH MA GAWDZ!!!

Sensors? Like tilt and such? Kewl for me.
Bluetooth. I'd like it but its CM6
Camera. Meh. Nothing new there.
GPS Bug? Like reboots or just can't get position?
Did we have this netcfg problem with the 0.50 ROM / FLB-MOD 2? I don't get what that is.

So this is full CM6 with everything but the above working, nothing cut out? You are awesome.

Unfortunitely I think that one is going to be very difficult to fix. I think it is a problem with a change in the ril interface. I'm hoping that a combination of some files from another device might help, but probably not. The other option is to try and port the eclair interface into froyo. More investigation is needed.
