sorry I've tried to search other forums but I cant find a guide

You've got 2 options:

1. Using file explorer such as OI File Explorer --> just copy the .apk file on your SD card and using the file explorer point to your APK and install it.
2. Using ADB command
- copy .apk file under tools folder on your SDK
- open command window
- go to tools folder (example: C:\Android-SDK-Windows\tools
- type: adb install filename.apk

Try using AppsInstaller, super easy to install APK files with. Drop the APK file on your microSD card, start AppsInstaller and it'll detect the APK files on the root of the microSD card and let you chose which ones to install.
