Thanks to Maan76 and aldamon

............

I CAN CONFIRM THAT THIS WORKS CORRECTLY, i have been using it for 3 days now with no issues and i actually like this menu ALOT BETTER seeing as how it has a built in ram cleaner, screen lock, reboot, etc.

Thanks for the usefull tips

How much RAM do you get back

Thank you

A quick question - this simply removes the stock windows menu, and installs an aoo that acts as it, right?

Now, I use SPB MS3.5, not Titanium - so, could I just remove the stock menu, and not use Quick Menu? Since I access everything from MS3?

Ah well, I'll try it the way you posted, and think about trying it without QM. Thanks!

Quick menu is very interesting app. But its created for old WM 6.1(too small icons, no kinetic scrolling or selecting programs by sliding and some small bugs). It would be great if will be new release for 6.5 or 6.5.3....

I use Win 6.5.3, so i have start menu (quick menu) at the top, and the icon at the bottom. How can I get after pressing the Start 6.5.3 list put forward at the bottom?

Sorry for my eng

Cheers!

check if you can go into qmenu options and disable "register win key of device", does that make it behave better?

@ pgulzman

that is the same cab i have posted in the rar file

"dani_carrabba Posted Today, 04:26

this is the reason that i got rid of the start button all together. anytime that i would press it the phone would freeze for a few seconds and i could never find a way to get qmenu to launch when i pressed the start so i just decided to make the cube button a hardware start button with a short press. Sorry but i i never tried it on any other button.

I just wanted to make sure that i told you guys to map it to hard key because i had a problem where i had no way to launch anything after installing the arto start remover. My start menu and button was gone so all i could do is call and receive calls.

In case someone else did that the only way i found to get out of it was to put a qmenu shortcut in the startup menu through activesync and then restart the phone and the menu will be up so that you can access your settings accordingly

@HAL_9000

what bugs are you experiencing?

i am using this on amdzero's latest lite rom which is 6.5x.

the way i have my start menu setup none of my folders need to scroll.they all show up on their ONE level and are big enough for me to easily push with a finger

Oh, sorry urphonesux, you said 6.5.3, no 6.5. Anyway... :-)

qmenu is a great program for everybody not using titanium. For example I use SPB3.5, and I don't use the start menu. So if it's not finger friendly is totally irrelevant to me.

Also I was able to change the button assignment (I have ArkSwitch in my cube button). I used the button CP in Settings, no Samsung Settings, dunno if that makes a difference or not. I wasn't able to change the assignment when I had the NRGZ28 ROM installed, but now I have a lite H1 ROM and works perfectly. 80MB @ boot with 15MB PP, SPB 3.5, MobileSense y Phon ex. As I said, great tweak.

So how much MORE free Ram do you get with startmenu completely switched off?

Is it possible to uninstall Startmenu-remover and everything is as it was?

Regards

im not sure if you can uninstall it you can try tho

the only way to get rid of it may be a HARD reset

after opening apps and such its at least 10mb and on the plus side i dont have to leave my today screen to do ANYTHING on my phone anymore

the only thing i have on my today is a google search box thats automatically tied into my default web browser

add quick menu and multi tasking is a breeze

I think quck menu uses the same source code as that of xtasks!

really?

that makes it even better!!

xtask used to be my goto app on any rom

and for those that still use it there is a new version of xtask to be found if you're finding

and actually the start menu isnt completely gone just all of the links to it

dont believe me?

open pie and click on the start button

I use xtask, but I couldn't find any newer version in English, only one available is in Chinese. Too bad guys at xda aren't translating it! If someone has got a later english language version please do post here.

the reason is simply the fact that i hate my stylus, so even though its built into the i920 i never use it

ok i tried this.. removed start menu and removed today and installed spb mobile shell (not qmenu). now it's like spb MS is my operating system and i have more than 100 mb ram at start up with twu's jh2 lite..
