I called Best Buy and they said they don't price match Ebuyer :S. they need a "Retail outlet"
This really is beginning to SUCK!

You could phone up again

I phoned earlier this morning too before I'd seen bhups post and was told the same thing. "price match policy has changed in the last 24 hours and only match against a retail store in the UK".

Damn, wonder if it's worth a lucky dip at e-buyer :)

I'm now debating to just live with this.
I can send it back and hope for the other once to be a 53, but the way things are going, I don't think its worth the extra hassle.

I'm just gonna stick with it .

Maybe join the looters and sneak into the Best Buy store and just take one from there and swap it for my current one?
Technically its not stealing...

Only kidding.

The things people think of in desperate times.
Don't worry, I am STRONGLY against those bloody rioters.

@Paul

don't know if this may help future modding.

the hannspree is a rebadged malata a1011.

there are several kernels that seem to be floating about for the malata.

https://github.com/C...gerbread/kernel

https://github.com/g...i/smba1011-2632

it's possible this may help with future builds as the hardware should match

it's worth mentioning these are gingerbread as far as i can see

hope this is of help

regards

Chris

Whoa, I feel lucky now - I ordered from BestBuy last thing last night!

Many people are receiving 53 models from eBuyer, so might be worth trying again. Or wait a week for stocks to clear. Then again, there's probably going to be a lot of people returning 33 models so you might get one again.

Just received this from eBuyer Express:

Dear Grexeo,

Thank you for contacting Ebuyerexpress.

I have looked into this query for you and can advise the model we stock is the SN10T130R1653.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

I hope this information helps.

Kind Regards
Stefan

I'm still going to check the Type No. before accepting/signing for the delivery though.

And in case anyone's wondering, you have a legal right to check the contents before signing for a delivery - in fact eBuyer Express encourage you to do so in their dispatch notification e-mail.

Does this mean we can open the packaging and actually turn on the device?
What if the delivery guy don't wanna stay long enough for us to do that?

The model number is on the box anyway.

I ordered mine from ebuyer on ebay when they had the 15% off voucher and got a 53 model.

I ordered from ebuyer's ebay shop and got a 33. Have probably done too much with it now (eg. rooting, custom ROMs, general hackery and use) to realistically get away with returning it :-(

It's not that bad in landscape if you hold the screen just so. It is, however pretty pony in portrait. Still a bargain for the money though.

yeh, the tablet is a good price even with it's flaws, if it could go back to stock you maybe able to get it swapped.

also been looking at the asus epad

anyone know if installing a 3rd party firmware invalidates the warranty on the devices

I suggest you google "distance selling act". You have 7 days to test out something that you purchase online/over phone and you can return it without question.

Obviously you should keep original packaging!!
