Galnet ICS build

Has anyone else tried this rom?

http://galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/ics-builds/

I installed it last night and so far I'm loving it

Its based in Android 2.3.7 but has parts of ICS in it as well

Galnet MIUI ICS is our experimental builds for the Ice Cream Sandwich framework being introduced into MIUI. These builds don’t look any different, however they do come with some of the ICS benefits such as power management and ram management.

I've never use MIUI before but it seems pretty good, its a lot different to the standard Android I've been used to, but the battery life seems really good so far.

I was a massive fan of miui when I had a desire. I would love to get it on the s2, but the only problem is that it currently doesn't support HDMI/TV out. I use this feature a good bit on my s2.

If miui ever gets this feature, I'll be all over it.

I charged it and restarted the phone to do a proper test

so far with everything syncing all the time so far it's been on 40hrs 16 mins and I have 48% left

Is that with the stock battery?

Yes stock battery and syncing all turned on, wifi on all the time as well.

The only thing turned off is gps, I turn it on when using maps and off otherwise

I also have been using the phone quite a bit, playing some games, downloading from the market and using the internet using wifi

Yes I believe you can (not tried though)

I ran it with the standard Miui screen for over a week to check the battery and yesterday I put Launcherpro on it

now it is as fast as the miui it is, and has the standard android look with a great launcher as well

Cheers, took it off for now, looks nice but think I'll wait till weekend when I've got a bit more time to play about, which is awkward when at work.

I did try tit backup, but once installed i couldnt find anywhere, it showed up in manage apps but not on home screens or any other menu/screen, so i need to look into that aswell

DOH!! RE titanium problem, sorted

I wasn't installing titanium free app just my bought key, installed the free app and now showing and all OK

tried again after working out my mistake with titanium, but now I get no service all the time, airplane mode is on as default, no way to turn off and stay off. Looked through their forum for solution but at the moment I'll wait and revert back to stock rooted and keep my eye on this

1 question can I restore my apps with titanium backup?

Yes, you can do it! But I advise you to restore only the app whenever possible.
