I plugged my Nokia Lumia 710 into my freshly updated Lubuntu desktop last night and realised that the phone auto-mounted as a media player device. I was able to browse folders and copy file to/from the device.

I have also successfully mounted and used the device on my Ubuntu laptop.

Both my laptop and desktop are running the latest version of Ubuntu and Lubuntu respectively (12.04).

Could this be the beginning of the end of being tied to Zune? I hope so!
