Just wondering... Do you enable mdp-composition in your roms?
Take a look at  hardware/qcom/display/libqdutils/comptype.h

I get the best results with: (without using this 'butter' hack)

COMMON_GLOBAL_CFLAGS += -DREFRESH_RATE=60

debug.sf.hw=1
debug.composition.type=mdp

Is there any way to have the top row on homescreen usable? A disabled the search bar, but that space is still not usable..
And will i have Butter working on third party launchers like Apex?

nova will allow you to add  extra rows  to the home screen ,so you can place app, Widgets right upto the top of the screen

is anything you've added causing the drain?   have you better battery stats to help nail it down (Google better battery stats xda ) and cpu spy to check if the phone is reaching deep sleep, also have a look in performance settings, Lalit may have set the governor to lagfree, change to smartass2

you can use my build n the previous page which doesn't require a TPT.

Auto brightness is there for a reason.

live wallpaper will eat battery, I'd still try and nail it down, and remove the offending app if required
