Screen not responsive with custom rom ZTE-U V960

Hi all,

I bought a ZTE-U V960 in Shenzen, China in march of this year. I've installed all the custom roms available here with the same result, e.g. the screen is not responsive, but hardware keys do work.

I'm able to install CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.4 and root the phone using a tool/script provided by "Johnny Hung" (1_Install_Android_2.3.5_root.bat)

C3C0 provided a fix for a screen issue in this topic for a ZTE Skate (SFR starradict from France). I guess a similar solution might apply for the chinese version of the skate.

I would appreciate any help you can provide to have my phone running a custom rom.

The phone is only functional with the following stock rom:

GB_CURETAIL_P743V1.0.0B1

ro.build.version.release=2.3.5

ro.build.date=Thu Dec 15 06:24:34 HKT 2011

ro.product.model=ZTE-U V960

ro.build.software_version=GB_CU_P743V1.0.0B01

ro.build.sw_internal_version=GB_CURETAIL_P743V1.0.0B11

ro.product.locale.language=zh

ro.product.locale.region=CN

Not sure if this can be useful, I dialed *983*24474636# and got:

ChiperTest

Give me the original boot.img of stock rom where screen works. I will take a look at it tomorrow.

Sorry for not replying back before, I have been quite busy with school related stuff.

If you go to http://www.modaco.co...ate-stock-roms/ you can download GB_CURETAIL_P743V1.0.0B11, that's the only rom that works "fine" on my skate. I hope that you can still look into this problem, if yo need something else please let me know.

According to that boot.img.

Kernels from this thread should work on this device.

If not, kernel log from booting process is required to see what's under the hood.

You can take a look here to find info on how to make kernel log:

I'm testing "Paranoid Android - tablet UI hybrid ROM based on CyanogenMod9" using the patch you suggested and the screen is now working, I hope that a problem with the proximity sensor is gone as well. I really appreciate your time and work on this issue and on creating custom roms.
