This looks nice, great find. Just on question though, is this rom clear of that bit of software that sends your data back to a company in China. Can't remember what's called sorry, but there were some concerns about this, early last year, with some roms from China.
Thanks

Ok, thought I'd give this rom a try. On initial boot the system is set to Chinese language, easy enough to go to settings and change.
Everything seems to work, all seems smooth and pretty slick.
I thought I'd try a custom kernel and can report that Paul Millbank's latest release works fine on this rom.
The only Chinese stuff left I can see is on the lock screen.
Cheers, Ben.
check bluetooth it will most likely not work......:)

I would buy non-chinese phone, then. Who knows what hides inside those chips?
And Google is totally transparent company, and our privacy on its servers is guaranteed.
Yep.

And now for something completelly different:

Just checked bluetooth sending data and it works flawlessly.
Here`s a screen for that (look at the picture top) and for no chinese stuff on lock screen:

And one more thing:
Remaining chinese signs disapperar when you install HwIme keyboard and set it as default one.

seemed a bit slow on my device. cm 10 feels more slick for me and I can live with the few minor bugs.

you got a point, I try and limit my stuff that is sent to google. Not overly paranoid, but it something to mindful of. But, I guess you don't remember what they were on about last year? There's a name for it that escapes me now, but I think some on here eventually had built a bit of code to show that the software was sending stuff out, without your permission.

I can confirm this. Running with Paul Millbank's kernel everything is working great except for Blue tooth which refuses to turn on.
Is there a workaround for this or does it mean restoring the original kernel?
Cheers, Ben.

Dont know, maybe this hint:
http://www.modaco.com/topic/357759-how-do-i-remove-omegamoons-over-clock-kernel/
check the last post there...

And another thing, you have latest Paul`s Kernel from today (and few more to check).

paul's kernel is only for stock roms, and this being a ICS 4.0.4 is clearly not that anymore, just like it doesn't (fully) work on CM9 too

and have you even noticed any improvements with paul's kernel at all, this is not some kiddies custom rom where he just added a bunch of mods he found on xda, they are actually developing it...

Can't help myself I guess. I like fiddling about to see what does and doesn't work. Somebody's got to try these things.

Edit: Just restored the original boot from a nandroid backup and BT is now working fine.

Me too,
yesterday I tried X-UI beta1, released just few days
after this one:
http://www.modaco.com/topic/359846-40romx-ui-from-chinese-forum/
It was nice, slowish a bit.
It was multilingual and easy to get rid of chinese software - it had some kind of uninstaller: XDA-something.
In themes you could choose Sense UI and Emotion UI, but that requested china clock which I already deleted,
anyway it was slow (not like MIUI, much better) so I reverted to Baidu.

Stock b952 is a great ROM, but other roms we flash occasionally have more features.
If your phone is rooted, with unlocked bootloader, cwm, and you are on baseband 2030,
whats stopping you to try all this roms.
Just go on, try them all, but dont forget to make a backup in cwm :D

Again, see the screenshots on the first page.
Third row, first screenshot.
It is rooted.
Rom, gapps, keyboard and file manager, all included in download link on the first page.
