Guest bentescort Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 This is my lockscreen: I did forget to flash gapps when I flashed the rom and rebooted to CWM to install it after I'd changed the language.
Guest pOcHa Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 i would like to try the middle ota vetsion but link is in chines? which one is to downliaf and if install can i select english lang.has anyone tried it? you would flash the ota diff zip ONLY if you already have the Baidu v19 rom installed (or you have v20 and the new v21 comes out), otherwise just flash the whole v20 find the U8818 picture, and click the ROM20 to the right of it, and then either click the full v20 or the v19-v20 update... ofcourse, if you use dakok's stripped version, than you would also have to strip any chinese apps from the update, or the install might fail
Guest yaqh Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 so if i install full vetsion i would still have to strip out chinese apps does anyone have full version without chnese aps.is the rom in chinese langue or is it just some apps? i would like to try this rom but not sure abouy the langue

Well, it doesn`t matter - you`ll probably be impatient - wanting to try another rom soon :) On the other hand, if you fall in love with this one - there`s new version comming up in two weeks. ;) I'm on dakok modifyed version: on wifi my play store doesn't connect (on mobile data works good). But I had wifi conectivity problems on B952 roms, B944 vas fine regarding this problem. Edited January 22, 2013 by dakok

You can go to settings, security, lock screen, and change the lock screen mode to slide from "favorite search words" or something like that, and you will have a clean lock screen with no Chinese. I don't remember exactly, because I've changed the ROM now.

Guest yaqh Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 anyone care to share their experience with this rom? i would like to compare with b952
Guest Colossae3.23 Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 This looks nice, great find. Just on question though, is this rom clear of that bit of software that sends your data back to a company in China. Can't remember what's called sorry, but there were some concerns about this, early last year, with some roms from China. Thanks
Guest Keshavkrs Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Ok, thought I'd give this rom a try. On initial boot the system is set to Chinese language, easy enough to go to settings and change. Everything seems to work, all seems smooth and pretty slick. I thought I'd try a custom kernel and can report that Paul Millbank's latest release works fine on this rom. The only Chinese stuff left I can see is on the lock screen. Cheers, Ben. check bluetooth it will most likely not work......:)

Who knows what hides inside those chips? And Google is totally transparent company, and our privacy on its servers is guaranteed. Yep. And now for something completelly different: check bluetooth it will most likely not work...... :) Just checked bluetooth sending data and it works flawlessly. Here`s a screen for that (look at the picture top) and for no chinese stuff on lock screen: And one more thing: Remaining chinese signs disapperar when you install HwIme keyboard and set it as default one. Guest gaijyn1981 Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 My bluetooth doesn't work either
Guest emyjojo Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 why did you change rom.what did you thonk of it.what are you on now.im on lighting rom and wondering if this is any better.it dors look slick. seemed a bit slow on my device. cm 10 feels more slick for me and I can live with the few minor bugs.

And Google is totally transparent company, and our privacy on its servers is guaranteed. Yep. you got a point, I try and limit my stuff that is sent to google. Not overly paranoid, but it something to mindful of. But, I guess you don't remember what they were on about last year? There's a name for it that escapes me now, but I think some on here eventually had built a bit of code to show that the software was sending stuff out, without your permission.

Guest bentescort Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 no i mean on check bt on updated kernel otherwise it will work fine...:) I can confirm this. Running with Paul Millbank's kernel everything is working great except for Blue tooth which refuses to turn on. Is there a workaround for this or does it mean restoring the original kernel? Cheers, Ben.
Guest dakok Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Dont know, maybe this hint: http://www.modaco.com/topic/357759-how-do-i-remove-omegamoons-over-clock-kernel/[/CODE] check the last post there... And another thing, you have latest Paul`s Kernel from today (and few more to check).
