With this simple trick, you can get (interpolated) photos using lgcamera  (free or paid) at 21,6mp or any other "more than high" analysis.

1. Install S5 rom
2. Install  lgcamera 7.0
3. Set resolution to 21,6mp or any other high indication, ex. 20,3mp etc, according to your needs.
4. Backup the installed photo capture application (with data) using titanium backup..
..
5. Install any rom you like.
6. Restore, from titanium backup, the previously archived photo capture application.
7. Voila, you have 21,6mp!!!

Caution: do not change photo capture resolution. There's no 21,6 mpixels indication to select.
So, it will be lost..
In case you do it, by mistake, just re-restore the apk from titanium......
Using this trick you can get the most out of your camera.
I know, it is interpolated. But i get the best pictures by far...

Works on any rom!!!

Have you tried decompressing the apk.gz from your titanium backup folder and see if the resulting apk is installable?

If you could upload it somewhere, Jpower73, for us to test, it would be nice

Efjaristó

EDIT: A free app would be better, because it could then be incorporated to any custom rom

Thanks, the resulting apk it's installable, after decompressing is indeed installable, but it only shows 13M. It doesn't show the 20+ megapixels on its settings, though. It seems to work restoring it with titanium, with all 3 files

Could you do the same with Open camera or some other free app?

That's the spirit... :)

This is happening because sgs5 uses a much more advanced cmos sensor so the camera libs are suited for this.

Ok thanks anyway, great tip.

Could you add the download link to the S5 rom to the first post, it would be easier to follow for whomever may read the thread

I'm using a payed version of the apk.

Sorry,

Can't add it according to the rules.

Besides , there are many photo screen sizes, above 13megapixels, except 6000χ3600.

An alternative method to test different cameras (apps) with S5 "ported" resolutions, could be just installing a bunch of them and make an update.zip with Titanium. Or you can make different zips with the same camera and different resolutions

I have yet to try if data/data extracted from the titanium backup, works if added to a rom zip. The extracted apk works fine

If so, maybe it could be implemented on a script or something, to get interpolated resolutions on any given rom/camera without having to make the whole "round trip" from S5 and back to your favourite rom

Personally, I'll do that with lgcamera and a better camera.

I'll create 2 update.Zip,  using titanium backup, at 20mp.

Even so, since we are talking about a cellphone, not a professional camera, i think lgcamera at 20mp and at the dimensions given above, probably should cover the needs most of us.

:)

So, keep lgcamera at 20+mpixels and install a better camera, as an alternative, to shoot at 13 or any lower analysis...

Or use the stock camera application....

Ok, Jpower73, both your apk and data/data/rubberbigpepper.lgCameraPro/shared_prefs from your titanium backup, do work if added to a rom zip on a fresh installation without having to restore the backup

So I think that that sets a path for including cameras with interpolated resolutions on any rom

God I hate LGcamera UI... It looks so dated.

If it weren't for that, I'll include the free version on every rom/mod: it has good performance, lots of functionalities and it's fairly small

... And best of all, in lgcamera you can "lock"  auto exposure and white balance, "on the fly", with just a simple touch. No need to search into menus.

Is there a way for a flashable camera package, without titanium backup thing?

Create update.zip through titanium backup.  There's such an option..

Oh,

Here is a short distance shot (appox.  40cm from object)

No lights, only Flashlight, auto focus mode

A Better camera.
Size 3,4mb

Lgcamera
Size : 7,7mb!
