The i600 includes Wireless Sync which installs on both your phone and PC.

It allows you to sync with your PC from anywhere. (Your PC has to be on and you need to open a port).

I have not used this with the phone yet. But I have used it with the i700 PPC and can attest that it works well.

Third Party software branded by Verizon. I didnt install it this time around, but had it installed when I was using the PPC. I'll see if I can see who actually developed it.

Here is an online demo of the software demonstrated on the i700 PPC. Still havn't installed on the i600 to test it out, but I'm sure it works the same. I'm going to try it from my office to see if it can get thru the firewall. I doubt it...but worth a try.

No because it doesnt have anything to do with Verizon other than the fact that they offer it with their PPC and Smartphone. Verizon doesnt act as a middleman at all. the phone sync over the internet directly with your PC.

I have not used it with the i600 but have on the i700 PPC.

It is really easy to configure and works very well. Give it a try. You can always uninstall it.

I'm going to try it from my office to see if I can find a hole in my firewall that will allow me to do this.

I've installed Wireless Sync on my i600. It works well. But it's only a kissing cousin to the i700 software.

Bottom line: If you've installed WS for the i700, you'll have some work to do with the technies at the Data Center (don't even think about going elsewhere in VZW) to get this software provisioned and running properly. It won't work out of the box.

I dont know if this requires a static ip, but if you dont have one check out www.no-ip.com ... you get a free url and install a little app on your computer that keeps your ip updated at their dns so the url will always work and point to your pc even when your ip changes.
