Guest nickcornaglia
The i600 includes Wireless Sync which installs on both your phone and PC. It allows you to sync with your PC from anywhere. (Your PC has to be on and you need to open a port). I have not used this with the phone yet. But I have used it with the i700 PPC and can attest that it works well.
Guest Paul [MVP]
That's pretty funky... Is that in ROM? Who's it made by? P
Guest nickcornaglia
Third Party software branded by Verizon. I didnt install it this time around, but had it installed when I was using the PPC. I'll see if I can see who actually developed it.
Guest nickcornaglia
Here is an online demo of the software demonstrated on the i700 PPC. Still havn't installed on the i600 to test it out, but I'm sure it works the same. I'm going to try it from my office to see if it can get thru the firewall. I doubt it...but worth a try. Guest ajglass
Is this the same wireless sync program that I installed on my i700? Thanks. - Andy
Guest Paul [MVP]
That looks pretty cool... Any reason why they couldn't release for other smartphones? P
Guest nickcornaglia
No because it doesnt have anything to do with Verizon other than the fact that they offer it with their PPC and Smartphone. Verizon doesnt act as a middleman at all. the phone sync over the internet directly with your PC.

Guest [email protected]
Way cool! I guess you would need a static IP on your desktop? Encece: Was it difficult to configure? Does it need anything "out of the ordinary"? I've actually looked into ISP's who provide Exchange E-mail, but this sounds much cheaper and almost as good! Guest nickcornaglia
I have not used it with the i600 but have on the i700 PPC. It is really easy to configure and works very well. Give it a try. You can always uninstall it. I'm going to try it from my office to see if I can find a hole in my firewall that will allow me to do this. Guest [email protected]
Encece: Do You know if the software requires a static IP on the desktop/router? For me, this would be for personal use.
Guest ajglass
I've installed Wireless Sync on my i600. It works well. But it's only a kissing cousin to the i700 software. Bottom line: If you've installed WS for the i700, you'll have some work to do with the technies at the Data Center (don't even think about going elsewhere in VZW) to get this software provisioned and running properly. It won't work out of the box.
Guest nickcornaglia
Paul....this is the company that developed WirelessSync. http://www.spontec.com/ The download fo the software is at https://www.verizonworeless.spontec.com But this will do you no good as you dont have a Verizon phone number to log in. Guest Skitals
I dont know if this requires a static ip, but if you dont have one check out www.no-ip.com ... you get a free url and install a little app on your computer that keeps your ip updated at their dns so the url will always work and point to your pc even when your ip changes.
