Is there an easy way to keep programs/settings while upg 6.1->6.5?

Hi guys,

I'm currently still on my stock 6.1 ROM for my O2.

I've seen some of the new 6.5.3 ROMs which look good and even start with 80MB of RAM free. I want to upgrade but is it possible to flash my ROM while retaining all the applications which I have installed? (eg. SPB MObile shell, etc etc...)

Can I just use sprite backup and then do a restore on the 6.5.3 rom?

No, you can't.

There is an application (SASHIMI) to reinstall all your apps/registry settings BUT it takes a lot of time to learn to use it and set everything up.

It may be worth if you plan to flash many ROMs often, but not if you plan to do it just once (or few times)

Thats really sad cause I took so long to get my stock ROM setup nicely I'd hate to have to do it all over again.

Youll be so stoked with 6.5 that you wont be worried about installing all the apps. There might be a few that you find you wont need anymore so it serves as a plus sometimes. :)
