Guest Kra1o5 Posted April 19, 2013 Report Posted April 19, 2013 (edited) TWRP 2.7.1.0 Official of TeamWin for U8833/U8951 You need Unlocked Bootloader.Instructions:Install it in Fastboot mode directly downloading this zip , unzip it in a folder, turn off the phone and put it in Fastboot mode by pressing Vol- and Power at a time for a few seconds and release, it will have been stuck on the logo of Huawei. Now connect your phone to your PC and open the file "Here choose correct file for your OS". Once installed, the phone will automatically restart. Guest Voxpop2011 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Has anybody tried this root yet? I don't need to unlock as I am a Vodafone customer, but rooting would be good.
Guest frazer_cooper Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Yeah im to scared to jump in without anyones review on if it works or not :)
Guest Kra1o5 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 This is a tested method by Spanish Forum. Greetings
Guest frazer_cooper Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 So will it work on the uk version devices?
Guest Kra1o5 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 The Spanish & UK are different but I think this works for both. You can try if you have unlocked bootloader. if this not works you tell me. Greetings
Guest Voxpop2011 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Hang on a minute. Rooting and unlocking are two different things. You can unlock, root or do both independently. So no-one has had the nerve to try for fear of damaging the phone. Fair enough.

Guest Voxpop2011 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Really. Both my Skate/OMC were rooted and unlocked and I am sure that I rooted first. Perhaps I am mis-remembering.
Guest frazer_cooper Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 Voxpop2011 did you try the root and if so did it work??
Guest Voxpop2011 Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 For the Ascend? No and I won't until somebody else has had the nerve (and been successful). Don't want to render a brand new phone unusable. :D I was talking about rooting my previous Skate/OMC phones in any event.
Guest Kra1o5 Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 If this recovery dont works for this model you only need to flash stock recovery no more problems. Grettings

Guest Hengst0r Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 I am about to buy a G510, but since I am in China right now it will be a T8591, not U8591. I won't buy it if I cannot install Recovery & Root. Should it work? Thx for your help.
Guest glassblower Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) I downloaded the installTWRP file and tried to install on my VodafoneUK G510 but it fails when trying to write to the phone. Here's what I did... 1. Started the phone with vol- and power button until it hung on the huawei logo. 2. I ran the windows version in the downloaded twrp rar file. 3. The twrp file found the device perfectly and tried to write to the device but reported "failed" *Has this root worked for anyone on the vodafoneUK model?* Neil Edited May 4, 2013 by glassblower
