Yellow tint on edge of screen

Hi,

I have noticed I have a yellow stain/tint developing on the edges of my screen. It is noticeable when there is a white background on the screen.

I believe this may have been cause by having the phone in tight jeans pocket with keys.

Has anyone else seen this happen to their phones before, and maybe know a fix?

Cheers.

My friend has white "bleeding" on edge of every corner, yellow tint was on LG G2 sometime ago and I remember they replaced whole screen or new device.

seems it's one of common "issues" of aging coolpad f1. could be caused by the melting of the glue used to fix display to the body of phone. Some suggest to put brightness to max and leave some videos to play for a minimum of 4 hours in this condition. Who knows if this actually works :D

It is said that moisture that got inside (bending could worsen that) or the glue causes this thing. Many members in myphone.gr had this problem, but no solution was found. One solution was to leave the screen in ultraviolet (UV)  light (or at the sun) for 2 hours. I think you could try it but probably you should buy a new one (screen+digitizer)

I have noticed that when on a completely black screen, there are patches where light is coming through, mostly around the top/bottom and sides.

Also, my bulging battery problem has got worse, so I'm wondering if it is the swelling battery that is bending the screen, by putting pressure on the back. perhaps this pressure is what is causing the tint patches?

Anyway, I am going to order a replacement battery, and maybe give this phone to my GF.

Looking at getting another China Phone, what is a good one to go for these days?

Cheers,

KP

Unfortunately the original (or second original ) China phone thread here seems to have died a death recently:

I don't know if the Lenovo K3 Note is still a good buy at around US$150 or getting a bit long in the tooth (relatively speaking) at this stage?

I'm not really up to speed with new/imminent devices/SoCs/processors and handsets to be honest...

Maybe MediaTek X20 Helio decacore phones (with 3-4 GB RAM) will be the next big thing...?

Maybe worth checking latest trends on Gizchia, Telekineza and the like?

Perhaps the battery pressure did that

For a new phone, you should look also the LeTV x600 (~170$) (or the newer x500). It's the definition of value for money. Every buyer at myphone.gr says it is top for the money.

See a hands on below or at youtube (now there is a multilanguage cleaned rom)

So I've ordered a cheap 8297w replacement battery off ebay, however, I doubt it is a Coolpad original

Are these recommended, or likely a fake or something? I read somewhere they can explode! This is the one I ordered: Coolpad F1 Battery

EDIT: So I cancelled the ebay order, as I think it probably would be more trouble than it's worth.

So where can I buy an offical Coolpad F1 battery? Does this look legit? http://www.coolicool.com/2500mah-original-battery-for-coolpad-f1-smartphone-g-34370

Thanks,

KP

you should check if the battery has the silver sign, meaning it is genuine

Latest update:

Ordered an 'official' battery and universal charger off aliexpress, for like $8. Will probably take ages to arrive from China. Hopefully it is a genuine one and not a fake that burns my house down :(

In the meantime my battery has got worse. Even more swollen, now I can put my phone down on its back, and spin it as it is bowing out in the middle.

Also, when using my phone, mainly on WiFi and watching videos, the phone suddenly dies. Even though the battery icon shows 75% or whatever. If I try and power back on, it just goes to a black flashing screen. The only way around is to USB charger cable and power back on :(

My friend had exactly same problem with his F1,size phone had almost doubled.

With every day battery gotten worse and last day before new one arrived lasted 1 hour.

Ordered via eBay brand new genuine and now holds almost 6-7 hours screen on time with his usage.

I noticed he charged frequently, exposed battery during summer at high temperatures while screen brightness maxed and this contributed swallowing.

But for example mine is perfectly normal, after 16 months holds 4 hours of sot,but I ordered new one Nohoom 2600 mah so we will see.

Same problems he had,I guess you got bad batch od battery like my friend.

Second friend also has normal battery.

guys, how can you use the phone with swollen battery? it might explode in your face when in charge or even when calling, don't play with those things. Kennypowers, funny thing is that you are afraid of a counterfeit battery, but you are not afraid to use an already swollen one which is like a bomb which can really detonate. I reccomand you not using it until you have proper new battery, it can also damage your phone, but that would be minor problem compared to what can do to a person.

I know this topic is old, but I am looking for a new battery.

Unfortunatly the product of the quoted link is removed. Does anyone know where I can order the original battery, many vendors on Aliexpress claim their's is original, but how do you know for sure?

And do you guys think it is worth buring a new1 battery for this phone or should I go buy a newer smartphone?
