Hello everybody, New here as you can see. Is anybody out there having any success running Ms voice command on there O2. I have done some searching here and messed with it on my O2 but it will not announce incoming calls that are in my contacts on the handset or BT. I have the announce option checked in the settings. Any help would be great!

Thanks bobo, Yeah I saw that one and it's no help as I can use my handset or BT to make calls just fine but it will not announce incoming calls through either. Any additional information would be great as this was one of the reasons I purchased this phone. Thanks, Ricky

Is it supposed to work that way ? ie announce the caller name ?

Normally I only use the car BT and while it can use voice command to dial out, it is only able to ring the phone over the speaker and display the caller in the dash (and of course the phone).

MSVC works just fine with my O2 including voice routing from BT headset (moto s9 HD) and announcing caller ID of incoming call.

In the old WM (not samsung touchwiz settings) settings: settings>personal>voice command

each scroll down has its own option and notification settings, you cant just do for one and expect works for all

i.e when you highlight Calender it has its own Option and Notification

i.e when you highlight Phone it has its own Option and Notification

I have one of those as well, just the S9 not the Hd (didnt know there was one) but it still doesnt work. I have been reading and old thread on Howards forums and one person says turn of all incoming rings/vibrations and it will work, I tried it and still no luck. Anybody else?

Hello,

I finally got it working with a bt headset Motorola H550.

How did i would you say ? Well i did nothing more ! Just tried it with this headset and it worked at the first time

But it doesn't mean that i solved my problem since this headset is not mine. It's my sister's one.

I want to use voice command over bt with my integrated car kit. It's from a citroen C4. It still doesn't work. When i press the command button of the car, i've got an horrible and very loud bip (different from the ring you can hear with the phone speakers and that i could hear also with my sister's headset) in the car's speakers. After that i nothing happens. Another noticeable thing with bt of the car usage is that when someone calls me i cannot hear the ring in car speakers (only in the phone speaker). With my precedent phone, htc trinity, i could hear a very basic replacement ring. With omnia 2, nothing, pure silence. I don't know if it has to something to do with my voice command and bt problems but i found it could be interesting for specialists that would like to diagnose my problem.

As you can guess, i don't want to change my car in order to make bt and voice command work together. So, i thank in advance any of yours that will try to help me.

Yes i've already tried this guide and updated the bt dlls. But nothing.

I believed that there would be bt experts here that could have an idea according to my symptoms (loud bip, no audio routing with voice command, no substitution ring tone) of what kind of difference there could be between my car kit and sister's earpiece.

maybe you can try with cyberon voice commander instead of Microsoft one. it's know that car kit got some incompatibility with some blue tooth stack.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried cyberon voice commander trial french version. But now when i press the button of my car kit, it says that voice recognition is not present in my phone. Any suggestion to make it work ?

Maybe i can try vito also.

I believe the problem is that you do not have an A2DP headset.

VC doesn't use the Handsfree/Headset profile channel to send announcement audio. It delivers it over the regular sound channel. That's why, even when you have a BT headset connected, if it only supports the Headset/Handsfree profiles, the sound comes over the hi fidelity sound channel, which is the phone's speaker or hardwired headphone.

With a BT headset that supports the A2DP profile, it will announce over your headset, just as it plays hi fidelity music that way too.

I have the Plantronics Voyager 855, a small stereo headset indistinguishable from the typical 2" long in-ear headset:

That extra earpiece goes in your other ear via a very flexible wire. It is removable at the headset (the over-the-ear part unplugs from the headset), so you can use it mono as a regular BT handsfree device.

I am more than satisfied with this product -- it's a really good solution to a converged telephone BT earpiece and high quality BT stereo headset.

Cheapest I've found is here at Amazon, with a total price with shipping of about $41. A steal.
