Guest mcwarre Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 There are two (minor) drawbacks to this case. 2) The really nifty sync cradle is now useless. I have 2 of them (one for work, one for home) and now I don't use them. Already mentioned!
Guest Shuflie Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 There are two (minor) drawbacks to this case. 1) It makes the phone rather WIDE with the belt clip. The phone used to be small enough to slip into a pocket. Not with the belt clip attached! The whole point of a belt clip is that you clip it to your belt, if you want to keep the phone in your pocket remove the clip, problem solved! :)
Guest andysalmon Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Not sure, but I think he means the detachable lug on the Krusell case.
Guest abatis Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 The case is pretty nice. People must be awfull picky to complain in my opinion. My part numbers are KR-C-MOT-83151 and KR-CLP-58113 (Swivel Clip) Fit like a glove and swivels - what else is there? I think the author who took the photo with the case off the top must have received a defective case. Mine has an elastic leather strap that retracts and holds the case on the top flip section. I could not get mine to do what the photo shows withot yanking it off.
Guest rchiileea Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Still haven't sent mine back, but still very hacked off. It wouldn't have been hard during production to make the top part bigger, therefore fitting better. Oh, and by the way I have not feckin' pulled the elastic. RU pulling our collective plonkers? no nead to get narky MATE! but its funny isnt it only a few people have defective cases with the top that keeps coming off and the rest are fine no probs. if your tops coming off send it back as you can see from here and mpx org only a few have this prob
Guest abatis Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Well I tried to modify the cradle for the case fit. The leather lip on the back of the case foiled my attempts. Here is what the cradle looked like until THE END. THE END OF THE CRADLE
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 opps, at least you tried though
Guest mcwarre Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 The case has scratched my bleeding screen! The stitching on the right hand side of the bottom half has been coming into contact with the screen. Right I am binning the case. It's a pity as I quite like the belt attachment. Wait up! *idea* Just brought one of those cheap ones off of eBay and took it's cr*ppy belt clip off and superglued the back of the Krusell case to it so I can still use the belt attachment. Nice................
Guest abatis Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Were you using part numbers are KR-C-MOT-83151. I can't see how mine could scracht the screen. This case fits pretty nice.
Guest lawsonium Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 ok, BEFORE Christmas, I ordered my case from TheMobileRepublic.com which was only £12.99 but it has only this morning (yesterday morning 28th) arrived. See this thread Anyone sourced a case? I know I shouldn't have waited so long and cancelled the order etc. etc... but I just couldn't be bothered  Anyway, I have it now. The case isn't quite how they describe it on TheMobileRepublic.com who claim that all 'multidapt' flip-phone cases have a zip to stop them flying open (they may have changed the description now, I'll have to check), but the case I have is the case pictured/described here. Firstly, the elastic bit that people here are complaining about is very tight and adds noticeable resistance to actually closing the phone. Anyone who has a limp one has either been pulling too hard   or has a faulty case. The top portion of my case is very secure when the phone is open. IMO the quality of the build is very good, but although I spent time and care ensuring my phone is wearing it's case perfectly (and it is) the hole for the mic is not very well lined up with the actual mic opening. People can here me ok still, so no problem. Stops dust getting in it anyway. Although the case is a very snug fit, VERY snug, I think they have been a bit skimpy on the material. They could have covered all of the back part, and not just ended about 10-12mm from the hinge because when closed these corners are very exposed. Also the screen part of the case is extremely skimpy, the sides do not need to be uncovered even if the screen does. Though in my case (get it... in my case :( ) this would not be needed to keep the top part on as it stays on very well. As for the screen, I would personally like to see the same plastic that is over the key's to have been over the screen, but my reason is that I sometimes need to have my phone with me while riding horses and the dust that is around during the summer months especially is a killer for mobile phones. I have kept the surprisingly quite durable sticky screen cover on mine, the one that the phone comes with from new. This means I know that underneath the cover is a shiny screen as good as new because it has never been exposed to fingers and dust  :D I remember one thread on here saying that there were replacement screen covers (like on PDA's) for the MPx200 available on eBay, I will have to check this out as I will prob buy quite a few packs due to the Krussel case not having a screen cover. Important The one thing not mentioned so far is the marking of the screen by the big blue action button!!! Alphaflux and others have mentioned this in his MPx de-cert thread. I started to see a very feint mark appearing in my screen 'cover' (how glad am I that I kept it on  ) and after a little 'holding up to the light' investigation concluded that both the button and the ring around it from the D-pad were just toughing the screen. So since then I have sandwiched a bit of tissue in the phone to cushion the offending button. I hoped that with the Krussel case there would be sufficient material between the two halves of the case to keep the buttons away from the screen, and YES! there is, so no need for the tissue anymore. Anyone else found this to be the case. Ok, on the whole I am glad I bought the case, god knows I waited long enough for it. Only £12.99 too with free delivery. I have my niggles with it just like everyone else, but one of them certainly isn't the elastic. It's a shame that the cradle isn't usable with the case, but not really disastrous. Would have liked more material especially around the hinge area and possibly over the screen. Two purchases needed now. 1st- a belt/car clip. 2nd- some of those protective screen covers from eBay. P.S. My digital camera is not with me at the mo, will take some snaps of phone and case tomorrow (maybe) and post here. Later guys and girls. Matt.
Guest darrenjg Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 After numerous problems with themobilerepublic.com *cough*coyboys*cough* I've managed to get one of the krusell mpx200 cases from another supplier (and then my cancelled one from tmr arrived too, but thats another story). Does anyone else find it makes their phone feel really uncomfortable to use? The back part of the cover is quite rigid, and also the top part of the cover seems to have quite a hard protruding lip. Maybe I'm being picky... I'm just a little disapointed as my phone just doesnt feel as nice to use anymore.
Guest samandiain Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 If anybody's interested, the carphone whorehouse are now doing an own-brand mpx 200 case for £9.99. It's not perfect, but it's got holes for everything, and a random extra hole near the top of the internal screen. (yup it's a large plastic cover for almost the entire screen, so no danger of it slipping off) It's also got the standard bulky steel spring belt clip on the back. but that can be fixed - I have some tin-snips lurking somewhere. all the buttons seem to work ok through the plastic, and you can still hear your MP3s played without the headset, just ever so lightly muffled if the phone is closed. And phones4U have motorola car chargers. No price was visible - they must be free! If you want a spare cradle - it's just £25, again from phones4U Iain
Guest lawsonium Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 samandiain, I'll check Phones4U when in town next. I would like a car charger, though it depends on the price. I have to agree with you about themobilerepublic. I was reasonably impressed by their site, and indeed the rapid response by customer services, but for whatever reason they seemed to have major problems getting this Krussel case. Buying only one item from them is not fair indication and I did curse them repeatedly while waiting for my case, but I won't pass judgement on them until I hear more about other peoples experiences. Anyone who has dealt with TheMobileRepublic, please share your thoughts/experiences. darrenjg, what was the 'other' story with your case and TMR? Matt.
Guest thelagermonster Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 got my case today VERY NICE  and a great fit :D Oh yes and i have had problems with them cowboys at the themobilerepublic as well....
Guest lawsonium Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Got my car charger from Phones 4U. A moto own brand thing. Quite stylish, nice blue circular bit chech maches blue on MPx and had a silver Moto 'M' in middle of it. This lights up green strangly! Works fine and lead is long enough, cost £20 I think, bought for me for a Birthday presant  My Krussel case is showing it's first fault. The once VERY tight retaining strap is a little bit looser than it was when new. It still holds the top part on but not as firmly as when I first got it. Matt.
Guest Exodia Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Recieved my case 2 days ago from daydeal.com Its a very good snug fit and a vinyl flap covers the entire screen (protects screen from the action/D buttons) Theres no chance of the case coming off... in fact, it was quiet difficult to work the phone out of it, yet the case was not so tight that the phone couldnt close. My phone closes all the way down. The belt clip is the slip on kind though and of course the phone doesnt fit into the cradle with the case on. Theres a slot at the bottom for usb and in the side for the sd card but it doesnt line up... i rarely remove my card anyways. I have a gripe with the amout of dust that ends up being trap inside of it... probably because i keep it in my pocket. Also the belt clip should have been the button release kind (makes for quicker pick up and return). This really is a very good case though, i'd rate it 8 out of 10. http://www.daydeal.com/mpx200/default.htm
