Guest hanya Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004  Does anyone know of any reg. tweaks to play a small midi when I flip the phone open/close. it will be nice to have (like the samsung e715). :?: Thanks
Guest Exodia Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 That should be possible since it already plays click sound when you open it. A simple reg tweak should get the job done. I wouldnt mind changing that myself so i'll have a look through the registry.
Guest Shuflie Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Ummm. that click you hear when you open or close the phone is mechanical, not generated from the speaker.
Guest phideltwj Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 WindowsHWandSW.wav is played on any key action - including the flip open sound. Note, that this is only played when the flip is opened, when the user is at the home screen. Unfortunately, the keypress registry entry cannot be modified, nor can the file itself that resides within the ROM.

Open your phone half way, just as the screen comes on you'll hear the click. And since its the same file used as the one for button clicks, if you modified it, the file that you use would probably be played every time you pressed a button? This turns out to be a lil more complicated then i though, maybe alphaflux can help out.
Guest phideltwj Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 It becomes complicated, as files temporarily cached into the Windows directory, are restored upon each clean boot. A provision to re-copy the file back into Windows would need to be created, and loaded upon startup. The second issue is that since WindowsHWandSW.wav is indeed the same shared file as the keypress default sound, overwriting the HWandSW.wav may not be a viable option. There is however, an OpenPhoneAction call, however, the only action that can be taken at this point, is to answer an incoming call - none to initiate a sound, even if additional keys are added within the registry. I believe this would require a customized application.
Guest dharden Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 there's no click from mine when i open or close it. Only the mechanical one at the fully open or closed position. Tried checking to see if it does it when the screen comes on but there's nothing. are the orange ones not set to go "click" perhaps?
Guest Shuflie Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Might be tied into the keypress sound, I have mine disabled and haven't re-enabled to see if it makes a difference. edit: enabled key control sounds, the MPx200 only makes a clicking sound when key control is set to tone.

We are not referring to the DTMF keypress tones.
