Guest jacoch Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Some users reported that after formating the SD on the E200, they didn't get any trouble anymore. We are actually searching if this is just chance or not. A new beta should be available within some days (on Monday if latest tests are fine). Thank you all for your feedback. And once again, we apologize for the lost files.
Guest prody Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I also tried removing the card plus all other suggestions mentioned, but couldn't see anything. It wasn't a major problem though cause I'm keeping all installation files.
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 I've got a new SPV E200 to weeks ago, had installed version 1 for a while, then thought I'd try the version 2. I don't use the SD Card, but recently I've had the original Orange Add-On card in the phone (8MB) and it kind of sometimes thinks there are folders there, then it thinks the folders aren't etc. but I'm not too bothered at the moment because I don't really use the SD Card! My only "complaint" of the Smart Explorer 2.0b1 (I don't know if it's the same in version 1) would be, when you go to Edit>Find then enter a name e.g. er... "ms", include subfolders, search system files, search hidden files/folders (well that's what I do anyway), then press Find, it finds the items e.g. I've got MSN Messenger.lnk. Now, if I press the Action Button to open the selected item it goes to the search criteria. If I press Done it goes back to the tree where I was at. Basically, I can't open searched files. Sorry that this post isn't grammatically perfect, let me know if there's something you can't understand. :)
Guest kalinte Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 wrks like a charm. even the update task manager. two thumbs up for you guys
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Hmmm just experienced this problem on my original SPV (DK 1.6.4 update) with the latest version of Smart Explorer installed on the phone. The card seems to have gone totally corrupt, a reboot or a removal of the battery doesn't help! Task Manager (also installed on the phone) proves that the files are still taking up place on my phone, but I can't locate them via Smart Explorer - Active Sync or my Card Reader. Just did a clean install of programs a few days ago, so it's a puzzle, but going back to version 1 for now.
Guest sgannon Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Copied a couple of video files from the phone (E200) to the memory card (Sandisk 256Mb) and got the same problem as others have said. Could only see 'my documents' on the storage card and that was empty. It still showed as 73Mb free but couldn't read it on my card reader either. Just re-formatted it and restored an old backup. :)
Guest jacoch Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Hi all. Thanks for the feedback. It's much appreciated. We finally found that the problem doesn't occur with all SD cards. We tested new version with 5 different cards. Only one gave the problem and not all the time. It's very strange. We have not yet been able to reproduce the problem on orange beta update. So we hope the SD card driver has been fixed. But it's not possible to be sure, as we have only tested 5 cards from 3 manufacturers. There are also several complaints, especially with Lexar or no name cards, on Smartphony regarding problems with SD cards. But not affecting Smart Explorer. Some card are not detected or are seen as read-only. We will post a new beta early next week. We will maybe try to disable the status bar to get feedback on it. Maybe not stressing the driver will fix the problem until the update is available. Finally, may we request some tests from poeple having troubles: can you please try different cards on your SPV (if you have some). We would like to know, for those who have the problem, if it occurs with all cards or not. Don't forget to backup your data before testing  Thanks in advance for your help.
Guest Nuckls Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 strange, can't send fils to t6xx by bt..but to my palm is ok :?:
Guest jacoch Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 strange, can't send fils to t6xx by bt..but to my palm is ok :?: As explained above in this thread, the MTU is not negociated properly by the E200. Thus, it sends too much data at a time to the T6xx. The transfer fails because of that. By manually limiting amount of data in send buffer, we are able to send data successfully. This change will be available in next beta, that should be available at the end of this week.
