Guest Danger Mouse Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Does anyone now what the requirements are to become a business account holder? I could be a way to get hand set.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Orange really need to look at this again, what with O2 plugging the XDAII heavily now (even on TV). Still, I did see Oramge were advertising the MPx200 in The Sun yesterday - so maybe there's hope!
Guest darrellt Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 What browser does the M1000 use and do you have to use an earpiece/headphone unit to make calls or can you put the handset to your ear? Cheers, D.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 It uses Pocket IE, and YES, you can put it to your ear! P
Guest darrellt Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 I was hoping that it might use Opera as that seems to be better at taking a whole web page and rescaling it as seen on some of the Sonys. Cheers for the reply Paul.
Guest Saif Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 just got off the phone with orange business sales. What a bunch of idiots!!! their line is that this device falls into the Laptop/PDA category and as such will NOT be made available to the general consumer. it is not on their roadmap for the foreseeable future. however, one of thep eople I spoke to said it might be worth phoning around larger phone shops like Carphonewarehouse as they might be able to offer the device as an upgrade - what is going on at Orange... they're definitely loosing the plot with this one. when I told them that this would force me to leave Orange and go to O2 all they could say was 'oh well'... this is not good considering my annual spend is over £1k and thats just on rental!!! :) Mr. Orange... I think you need to force a rethink in your organisation!!!!
Guest h00pyfr00d Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 I think Opera is a Symbian only piece of software. I've got Opera on my P900 and obviously Pocket IE on the Pocket PC. The only problem with it is it gets messy when trying to access Java. The problem with the headset is it's a 2.5 jack again and not the larger 3.5 that can be found on the HP iPaqs. Still, it's very slow copying MP3's onto it anyway. I'm using a Motorola M810 Bluetooth headset with my M1000 now and it works very well.....although you only get about a day and a half power out of the M1000 with BT enabled, and when the battery life gets to about 10% it tells you that it's shut down all GSM services....Grrr.
Guest peekie Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 It seems that the uk are paying alot for their spvs in the e200s and m1000s i got my m1000 from orange nl on a normal account ( 30 euros for 6 months then 20 euros for the final 6 months and paid 300 euros for the phone ) the loose price without any contact is 649 euros
Guest AvWijk Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I have it here with me for a review. It's a real powerful device, 400Mhz xScale and 128mb ram. Also the VGA camera is very good but the battery time sucks about ~ 1 day with normal use (with some camera use and playing about 10 mins of games) Dutch-understanding people here can see a review of me very soon :)
Guest Brody Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I reviewed the M1000 early April 2004, click the link below for my review which includes sample photos and a video captured using the device :) http://www.msmobilenews.com/?cid=454
Guest peekie Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 should be good a dutch review probably best to post it in the dutch section though
Guest clifhanger_uk Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Can you tell me if the Pocket IE on this device supports applets. It would be great to be able to connect to the web version of our companys Lotus Notes email. The SPV E200 doesn't support using this because of the applets. Thanks
Guest rammy121 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 ..well, i ordered mine on friday. at first they told me £180. i said"hmmm, yeh right, off i go to o2". they said would i consider leaving orange and i said "well, yeh!!". they've got the same phone and i'm sure i can get a new customer deal". without a second thought, she put on to disconnections. the first thing the fella said was "£80-best offer". i nearly fell off my chair. i took it and they gave me 100 minutes extra/month. o.k. the cost of the phone is bound to come down with time but for friday, it was a good deal. all i can say is, just push your luck. they can't make your life any worse. rammy
