Well said katan! I went back to I-Mate after trying the Smartphone 2003 for only a few days. Good thing it was easy for me unlike Lopio's experience.

Hi I'm so new to smartphone technology although i have a long experience with the PockePC. I'm just wondering if its worth to get a new rom for my phone? I don't mind if its not 2003. I just want to know if its worth the time and risk. I just got this phone last Tuesday. Posted from my SmartPhone!

@ spv_dman

You might want to try my 8 Mb SD card with 0.93 bootloader.

That is what I used when I went back to I-Mate.

Just PM me if you're interested

Cheers!

Yes its the new version. Even the boot loader is new. I don't see any good reason of changing now, since the current 1.7.x is doing great for me.

An office mate of mine showed me her Qtek rom powered SAP. It feels more responsive, but at the moment, I am satisfied with the stock Smart rom.

Thank you for welcoming me to the community. I hope I can contribute a lot here in the future as I have contributed before in the Zaurus community.

welcome to Modaco!

Smart 1.7 and Qtek roms are almost the same....the slight difference is that Qtek can be openline/ sim-unlock...so stick with your Smart rom if your using the Smart network :wink:

case to case basis:

why unlock your phone if you're Smart user and if your satisfied with the ROMS performance?

it really depends on the users needs...

cool! 8)

as i've said... case to case basi nga. Smart sucks pero gusto mo SAP mo, i-openline mo! hehe :)

gusto ko jan GPRS, libre!

@xj

if i change Sims, mai-store ba 2 settings ko for Data Connection?? wla kasi ko papasahan ng Smart ko and gusto ko GPRS ng globe...

ano pa ba maganda sa Smart? hehe :lol:

ehhh, actually i've tried the three ROMS (Orange, Smart and QTek).

of the three, Smart sucks the most! all the bugs causing hang-ups and slow performance. eww Smart!

QTek, never let's me down. but what happened to the Windows Mobile 2003 thing? wala na ba tayong pag-asa dito?

@ katan

I saw your query to xj and I am using my dual SIM device and I have both Smart and Globe settings stored in my phone.

All I do is set the settings and shift networks by turning Airplane mode on & off.

@ Doc Kanapi

i am not using dual SIM device. so if i have 2 settings stored in my phone, whenever i change my Sim it will load the setting from my network provider. is that it?

cool! 8)

thanx Doc!

@katan

i guess you still need to manually change your data connection settings whether you want to use smart or globe gprs and wap settins... :)

hmmmm

pwede ba to?

ano ba setting ng Globe GPRS, anyone???

thanx guys!

ang gagaling nyo lahat dito!!! 8) :)
