Guest cjoprey Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 Like everyone here I would of course like to see a Smartphone 2003 upgrade made available - chargeable or otherwise... And to that end I decided NOT to speculate but I have submitted a request with Motorola UK for response - will post the reply here as (or if) it appears... It could be a while people so keep looking! :)
Guest cjoprey Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Well guys - got my reply... :) Here it is in unedited glory: Dear Mr O'Prey Thank you for contacting Motorola. Motorola is not offering an upgrade to 2003 on the MPx200 at this point in time. For any further assistance or information please do not hesitate to contact us again, quoting your reference number. Guest vivek Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 This is an old wound. When I bought my MPx200. There were lot’s of stories and although I like my buy and respect for Motorola and it’s products, I must say that Motorola got to learn a PR lesson. When I bought my handset, I thought it’s coming with WM 2003 and having 200MHz. Motorola giving excuse of battery life and performance criteria not good for 2003. I would welcome free upgrade as healing herb.
Guest focus1400 Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 :D ive just getting mine and thought it would have 2003 on it but no put me down also
Guest scott2eyes Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I was very keen to get the 2003 software when I got my MPx200 in December, but since then I've found the next best thing; Change your startup screen. :wink:HobbesShutdown.jpgSmartHobbesSplash.jpg
Guest nobody Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Actually I don't care if they offer upgrade to 2003 or not. I got my mpx200 for almost nothing. I will just buy the 2003 phone or mpx220 as it comes out if I really want to.
Guest k2bk2bk2b Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Frankly after using the xphone for just a few days, i rather not change my mpx200 to 2003..... Main reason being Terrible Battery life. I always keep my sd/mmc card inserted.... no point takin it out everynow and then. Many figured its 2003 sdio thingy thats shortening battery life... Main reason why i changed to mpx frm the xphone is becoz of battery life. I cant be expected to bring my charger around.... Battery life on xphone lasted 9hrs shortest... 12-15hrs max... battery life on mpx... 18hrs shortest- 2days with 1 bar of batt left. WHat do ya think?
