Guest straff2002 Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I've gone from an spv to a p800 bac o an e100 waiting for this phone and to be honest it looks superb, the mpx200 looked (sorry boys and gals) a bit effeminate where as this phone is pure gadgetry and let's be honest, that's what we want, we want this phone this is the one we have been waiting for just please ....... (insert thing praying to here) let the bluetooth work properly and the battery life be halfway near normal !!!!!!I've gone from an spv to a p800 back to an e100 waiting for this phone and to be honest it looks superb, the mpx200 looked (sorry boys and gals) a bit effeminate where as this phone is pure gadgetry and let's be honest, that's what we want, we want this phone, this is the one we have been waiting for just please ....... (insert thing praying to here) let the bluetooth work properly and the battery life be halfway near decent!!!!!!
Guest www.msmobiles.com Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 all things considered this phone doesn't look that ugly. however I am asking myself if this phone has really anything to offer for users who own Orange SPV e200 already? I mean: e200 already has camera and bluetooth, so is there are any reason why owners of e200 should switch to mpx220?
Guest peekie Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 thought i was seeing double must be the time of night
Guest nickcornaglia Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Looks fake to me. Could be a 3D rendering of the real thing....but with all of the false info, I'd rather see real pics. Where's the microphone hole? And dont those buttons on the sides stick out kind of far?
Guest Neondaze Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 If that is the new 220 - I want it in Black. Fed up of all phones being boring mundane silver.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Just not that shiny black like on the MPx200. Too easily smudged. Constantly cleaning it. A nice matte black would be nice. But I am a big fan of the metal cases as well. Who will be the first to make the smartphone with interchangable faceplates?
Guest ghandlin Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Any more info on a release date? Is it still going to T-Mobile?
Guest midnight Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 i'd say its definitely a 3d render of some kind rather than a photo, but, i do beleive this is real. I got some info a couple of days ago about possible mpx220 spec, which did state earphone top left, ir and power on the right, and this does indeed have that configuration. as for looks, looks ok to me, as been mentioned, a regular phone for once, nothing clever, something that will appeal to mass market. msmobiles, why would anyone want this over htc? simple, its smaller, probably lighter, should have better battery life one would think (mpx200 is better than any htc device for battery life), its a flip phone (seem to be all the rage at the moment), and, if mpx200 is anything to go by, moto have prolly tweaked the os to get more speed out of it, and who knows, maybe even fixed some of the bugs that plague the e200. also, we havent got any specs on cpu yet, who knows, maybe it will have a faster processor anyway :)
Guest McHale Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 reason to upgrade from e200 to MPx220: QUAD BAND (if you're in the US and *NOT* on T-Mobile) Clamshell that's it... The only thing that would make this phone better would be faster processor, more RAM/ROM, and the better screen res. BUT, I think geeks all over the US are going to rejoice over this one! -Mc
Guest midnight Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 screen res wont be touched until wm2k4, and i think the amount of ram in the mpx200 is just fine to be honest :)
Guest Kesey Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Umm...volume controls on both sides?! Exact same L x W x H as the MPx200...Looks fake to me.
Guest midnight Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 errr, theres only volume controls on the left, and there aint no specs on the size/weight yet :)
Guest phonesmarts Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 so what exactly are the specs for this phone? proc speed, RAM/rom, etc.? is it the same as mpx200 with BT, camera, and WM2k3?
Guest abatis Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 The best part aside from the phone is that it appears T-mobile will have it. http://msmobiles.com/news.php/1799.html At least the people that get it won't be ripped off by high data costs.
Guest Maverick Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Ah.. Nice design. Hope it doesn't cost a bomb when it finally hits the market. Also, Do I see a 4-way joystick there? :-s
Guest Kesey Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 @Midnight --> http://smartfone.net/?m=show&id=329 Shows specs and volume controls on both the left and right.
Guest [email protected] Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Midnight: Is that for sure about the higher resolution not being touched until wm2k4?
Guest [email protected] Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Maverick: I thing 5-way (4 directional, 1 "OK") is the Microsoft requirement.
Guest edupin Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Looks like fake to me. Simple question that has never been asked : how do you know this phone is the upcoming MPX220 ?
Guest nCoder Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 It looks fake to me. Why would Chi Mei move away from the USB connector that is present on the MPx200? Where is the SD card slot? The placement of the screen on an angle looks totally wrong. Why would Motorola produce a flash of the phone syncing without mentioning Bluetooth? It makes no sense as this will be one of the major reasons for updating...dunno I am very suspicious :)
Guest megaman Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 it looks fake as well...i am not happy with the phone. I jus wish the freakin phone had 1mp camera rather then the shitty vga quality. this phones only upgrade will be the bluetooth and the camera.. camera=shitty quality anyways have fun mc
Guest schmiew1 Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I have a friend in Motorola. When I enquired about the MPx 220 he passed me this. Also he mentioned the Mpx 300 too. I have asked If he has any pics of this. Cheers
Guest schmiew1 Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I do have the full version of the flash movie but it's almost 4MB in size.
