I have to just make sure it was not a typo but I have an e-mail from Rogers AT&T that the MPX 220 is available June in Canada.

The e-mail was forward to me from motorola in reply to my inquires of release in Canada of smartphone ( microsoft ).

I think I'll have to drop them an email to see if I can get any info. I really really want this phone, but if I don't get confirmation of this soon then it will be Mitac Mio 8390 for me.

When is the next opportunity for Motorola to announce this phone (ie. what conference, event, etc), and when is it?

Give me till Monday afternoon, I will get to work tonight and forward myself the mail.

I was originally just looking for prices on a new phone and plan via our corp. discount, all they really had to offer was a handspring Treo( it was refereed to as a smartphone.....more like dumbphone with no color...or a Nokia ) :-& and a full on PPC Phone edition with an arm 206 main chip......this is what they think is cutting edge :roll:

I guess our sales guys have fell in love with the Blackberry and Blueberry(it's our corp. IT pick for must have), it's a shame they have such limited vision.

So now I have to educate The GTA Mobile contact that the world is so far ahead of Canada.

This in turn adds frustration to me because now I am faced with my original option of cross border or overseas buy and money transfer, plus the added charge for unlock :D or wait 2 or 3 years till Canadian retail finds out about it.

I have send an e-mail 2 motorola in the Netherlands, hope they will release the phone soon. But I've read it will be releast at the end of the second quarter;

2 bad they first need to get rid of the mpx200 almost bought it but then I saw the 220 :D

Compared to the 200 it looks spaceage vs flinstones.

The mpx has been announced for the cingular market after the merger with at&t completes in october. However, the display shown on this website is falsified. Motorola has not yet decided on the external caller display type yet, the only models shown so far have a blank front where a display will later be integrated. The rest of the phone shown here is similar to the model that is currently being shown with some small changes. A new change to the mpx is that it will have a 1.3 megapixel camera along with bluetooth, infrared, and wifi. The phone's launching will be announced within 60 days.

The front display pictures have not been falsified. I have used and tested out an mpx220, and the display is production, and works quite fine. They may change it befor release(highly unlikely at this late date, and with it already being announced), but I doubt it. You have posted once on the board, please think twice before shooting off your mouth on something that is just plain incorrect. Sorry to have to be negative, but you should be careful about saying is false that has been confirmed many times elsewhere.

i phoned orange today to see about changing my tariff, while i was there i inquired about upgrading to the mpx220 they said it should be expected late july early august, but this was just a monkey on the end of the phone asking there supervisor.
