Guest neilmc
Hi, I have an original SPV (well i think i do!) How can i get .MID files to be used as ringtones? I have dropped the files into my windows directory on the phone. It sees them but it just beeps when you try and play them. I have updated the OS to v1.6. Also does this phone support polyphonic ringtones? Any ideas?
Guest Disco Stu
Firstly, they need to be in IPSMApplication DataSounds. Secondly, the original SPV isn't polyphonic so it will only play MID0 files. You can get free MIDI converters via a Google search though. Posted from my SmartPhone! Guest ajmaravilla
However, the SPV will be able to play .wav files as ring tones. I currently have "Clocks" as my ringtone. Follow the same process as saving the midi file. Save the *.wav file in the Sounds folder (I didn't have the sounds folder, I had to create it) and the file will show up in the ringtone list. Guest R4N6ER5-RE4DY
If you have the latest update from Orange, you can use .wav files stored on your sd/mmc card. I use a sample of "7 nation army" guitar on L1,"parisienne walkway"(Gary Moore) intro on L2, "prayer"(Disturbed) for messages & various synth sounds for other alerts without using up the phone's memory.
